On Defense In Bakhmut, Ukrainian Forces Hit From All Sides
Soldiers with Ukraine's 30th Mechanized Brigade say they have been hit from all sides around the key Ukrainian city of Bakhmut. Russian forces have been making slow but steady progress in the area. RFE/RL's Maryan Kushnir was with the Ukrainian troops and has this report.

As far as I remember, a pro-Kremlin correspondent did exactly that with a Wagner group HQ few months ago and that building was leveled By UA forces shortly after.

The US wants to see Russia fall so they are helping with that in mind as well. It’s just for Ukraine. I get it though, NATO wouldn’t stop moving west and and that’s a direct threat to Russia

The people here in the U.S saying we need to stop providing weapons and aid to Ukraine because it causes inflation are cowards. I fought in the Iraq war as a Army medic and we where blessed to have the best weapons. Equipment, and medical expertise and equipment on earth. Ukraine deserves the same and if I have to tighten my belt and utilize some of our amazing food banks that we are beyond lucky to have I am happy to pay my fair share to defeat Putin it is the very least I can do.

The heavy shelling around the Bakhmut area reminds me of the Battle Of The Bulge fought between (16 Dec 1944 - 25 Jan 1945). Very similar circumstances.

Not bravery stupidity. Sometimes you have to know what wars to fight, this isn't a war you want to fight because it is not winnable. YOu are just going to die and the outcome will be the same. There are so many well thought out and complimentary comments below that it is difficult to say much more. The Ukrainian soldiers, male and female are going beyond the call of normal willingness to fight for their country. They are true patriots fighting for the very existence of their homeland and the lives of family and fellow countryman. Hey fellas! Real talk. We cant stress enough that redundant C&C systems are key! Expecially in a static condition like trenches. Singars type tac pac network radioes as primary. Walkie talkies (2mile max range) 112 field phone. I know the wire is a logisgics issue, but they better get used to it. I bet they wish they'd gone through the trouble of layin that wire now! Short half mile relays are how you keep it manageable. Back it up with cell phones on satllite and you should be good.
