No implications because they don’t apologize and have no bad intentions, and aren’t really beholden to any company. The media could try, write some slanderous articles etc but they’re not collecting a check from an employer. Their fans are who pay them, and their fans are on board with their sense of humor.

Also, 1) this episode was Bert's birthday episode 2) bronze statues are always doodoo brown 😂

The joy from the gift was the absurdity of it all. It bums me out that the first thought was, “did they get cancelled for this?”

I feel like that's part of the joke for Tom tho cause good luck canceling them. Part of being "canceled" is usually a fear because you have done something else that is in your closet that your afraid of coming out. It's pretty hard to cancel people who are completely honest and just joke about everything.

There's another clip from the same show a few weeks later where burt talks about running in the people from A synagogue close to his house which is worth a watch.

It’s great that you seem to actually enjoy Bert’s reactions and personality. I’ve seen so many people insult him across the videos he appears or is mentioned in.

That 22k was a step back on spending for their birthday gifts. Lol

A week? Tom makes more than that in one arena show, which he does several a week. Plus all the revenue he makes on all his other podcast and invesments. Its comes out to wayyyyyy more. Think about this, his podcast alone makes hundreds of thousands a week for the company. Thats not the same as toms income but you can imagine its not a small portion of that.

Is it problematic? Well, that’s what they’re going for with Burt 😅. There’s pretty much an unspoken bit with Bert’s friends were they try to get him canceled by trying to make him sound like a racist Nazi sympathizer 😂😂

It's a historic artifact. It's cool to touch history with your own hands, it doesn't mean you therefore support the previous owner's life vision.

OK, I felt bad about recommending "Flying Dildos".... But this one holds up... so brutal, the ultimate gag gift. The fact that it is ENTIRELY F***ed up, Tom knew it, Bert knew it.... is what makes it funny.

Since you're such a fan of Bert and you've heard the Russian mob/I am machine story, you'll be happy to know that they've made a movie of that story called "The Machine" which comes out May 25th. Bert stars in it of course. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars franchise) plays his father. I am definitely going to see it immediately.

This clip is hilarious, but you do kinda need to know about 3 or 4 inside jokes they have had over the years on the show to really understand how funny it is and why he would get Bert something so ridiculous and potentially troublesome😂😂😂 And $22k was nothing, they had to scale back because they were basically in a competition to out spend each other each year on birthday gifts. It started with Tom getting Bert a $3k electric bike, then Bert got Tom I think 2 pimped out jet ski's, then Tom chartered a private jet for Bert and his crew along with 5 star hotel stay for the weekend, then Bert had a custom race car built for Tom with a trailer to tow it to the track that was well over $100k..😂 I might have missed a few gifts in there but they basically felt it was getting out of control financially so they pivoted to this😂😂😂 And they are so stupid rich, not billionaires or anything but dropping $22k was really nothing to Tom. And Bert is not quite on Tom's level, at least from conversations I've heard them have, but Bert is rich af too. But yeah I wish you knew more of the inside jokes to get the humor in this gift a little better. IIRC the gift giving started after a podcast conversation about how bad their wifes were bad at giving gifts but they were great at it.

Louis CK is also into history. Norm MacDonald a bit as well.

This video has been shown to orthodox Jewish people and they found it funny. Because it is funny and absurd. Also, these guys cannot be canceled. Their audience don’t play that game.

I know to us normals $22k seems like way way way to much but you have to keep in mind both of these guys are millionaires (Bert's 2023 net worth is $5mil and Tom's is $15mil) and they don't do this every day. They can afford to splurge like this on each other once a year without actually thinking about what that kind of money could do for your average American.

This sort of an inside joke to fans. If you've watched these guys over the years 2 Bears have cut together clips of conversations to make it sound Like Bert is a racist. We know that he isn't. Tom just thinks it's funny. He does love history though. His wife did something wonderful for Bert's birthday involving Winstin Churchills morning routine. She did it because she watched one of the episodes. She totally blew his mind.

For someone who is into history and being a comedian (Bert), this is just comedy ahah.

I would love to have received this as a gift

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't seen it in person or asked Bert or Tom themselves, but I believe the bust of Bert was carved out of wood and then stained and sealed, hence the deep brown color and the shine.

This whole thing is predicated on a joke that Tom always used to accuse Bert of being racist. He does this in like every other podcast. To be fair watching all of them Bert doesn’t see race at all - all he sees is your party potential. If you watch their podcasts Tom used to introduce bert as a racist. To maybe increase views or maybe it was mostly as a joke to shit on Ber - . He decided to go super ham and find a hitler cup. As good friends do. Tom gifting Bert a legitimate hitler cup is just his icing on the cake of the long standing joke cuz Bert can’t say no to (That would be super embarrassing)but because tom worked so hard to get this and probably took all the flak. This is the culmination of all those jokes and Tom fuxking nailed it.

I would immediately put red koolaid into it and drink from it lol. Id tell everyone that came over it was his teacup...morning coffee lol. Id consider it to a desecration of the cup if i, a native American/black/white dude drank some silly beverages out of it. And they couldnt cancel Burt or Tom...they are already multimillionaires and too funny AND famous.

This is a gag on top of a gag. Tom (or Tim: you decide) had made it a point of love to portray Bert (or Bart: you decide) as a racist when that was so obviously untrue. It got pretty far down the road that Bart had to ask Tim to rest on that gag. But it continues to be a “thing” where we jokingly accuse Chrysler of being the most racist, antisemitic comic in the world. It’s a gag. It’s an in-joke. If you know these two, you “get it.” I’ll grant you-it’s a pretty arcane in-joke but leave it to these goofballs to run with it. Tim’s whole Garth Brooks “where are the bodies, Garth?” is another precious gag that has gone waaaaaaaay long in the tooth. It’s a thing.

I don't see the issue with a tea set from Hitler as a present but as so often this has everyone to decide for themselves. The way Tom explained it they seem to have evidence what way the tea set took and who had it so it seems to be authentic. For his 50th birthday my dad also got a bust of himself from his colleagues. He still has it.

The YMH fanbase is too large and powerful for Tom to ever get cancelled for anything. The most that could happen is YT refusing to let them post, but they already have the infrastructure in place to shift to their own website if/when that ever happens.

There's been a running inside joke for years now that Bert is the fattest, most racist, and most sexist comedian there ever was. And this just shows how far they will take even inside jokes.

I can say from Watching podcasts and stuff and them being like big time Hollywood d list celebrities every jewish person they worked with thought it was hilarious and every busy body soccer mom or social justice warrior on the Internet were furious on behalf of the jewish producer laughing his ass off in the background and like thats basically there comments on the controversy around it that lasted like a week

I hate Hitler and everything he stands for but I would love a Hitler painting purely as a history buff... it's unfortunate how famous he is for the atrocities he committed but he is undoubtedly one of the most famous people in human history... and that's kind of cool purely from a history / collectors standpoint

the whole nazi angle is funny, but their jewish friends and colleagues reactions they get on air is hilarious.. but its better if you know the full story behind their gift giving challenge, they would get whatever they got and it started "small" but then told the other the cost and the recipient had to spend more and "one up" on the next birthday to come and it went back and forth for few birthdays till they realized as mentioned they knew it would get completely out of control, and that the wives were getting unhappy
