She is one of the true greats. The only female inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Country Hall of Fame, plus just for good measure, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. She was the top selling female artist of the 1960s and the Beatles were actually HER opening act. She's still with us and doesn't get as many props as she should because she is a sweet unassuming lady. She takes her place among the early pioneers like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline.

Love the guitar in that song.
Imagine 15 yrs old, live, no auto tune and other gimmicks. She had a lot of great songs, All Alone Am I, Emotions, I Want to be Wanted and so many more.
So much talent packed into such a small package, her nickname is "Little Miss Dynamite".

The nickname came not only from her voice and her size, but from one of her very first songs, titled "Dynamite". There's an absolutely adorable live video of her very young self singing it on stage.
She had a lot of poise for an adolescent. Breath control and knowing how to vary her position relative to the microphone is the hallmark of someone who knows what the word dynamics means. She really had it.
She was only 15 when she recorded this song!
You really got to hear Brenda lee do rocking around the Christmas tree

Way before her teens. She started performing professionally when she was 5 and received a recording contract when the was 10 or 11, in 1955. She released her 1st charted hit at 12 years old.
I love how you young people enjoy the oldies
She’s 15. Check out Sweet Nothings
Maybe during Christmas you heard a song “rocking around the Christmas tree?” That’s her.
So old school. You have to 2-step dance to a sad song. Heard this back in the old days when I was just a child. I'll be 70 next year and it still sounds great! What memories. Thank you.

Great singer & beautiful voice❤️. I saw her & Freddie fender. At theater in the round in Houston. My husband was so in love with her. 💞💞💞💞💞. And she was so dam short,. She looked like a little girl 🤩
She was on tour in a car traveling with Patsy Cline & Loretta Lynn. Would of loved to be in that car listening to them.
BOTH WERE GREATLY APPRECIATED
You should listen to her singing Rocking around the Christmas tree, appropriate for this time of the year guys. You should also listen to Connie Frances and Patsy Cline, they were in the same era as Brenda and sound similar.
Fun fact: my mom sang this to us kids right after running over a mailbox. 🤣🤣🤣
Soothing?? More like gentle, lovely, heartfelt pain. great song
Her voice is so innocent and sweet, but then also so seductive, all at the same time. Wonderful!!!
Her book Little Miss Dynamite is really good. Interesting life and tons of fun pictures 🎶🎵
OMG this is a classic from way backs. Mt dad thrashed this. But saying that. The first song I herd of hers. Was when she was 11. Jambalaya. She has so many classics.
I'm sure you would love her song "sweet nothing's"
To sing this extraordinarily well she must be an alien!
My Mom loved this song. I love this song. Brenda Lee is wonderful.
There's a song by Derrick and the Dominos called Layla. The two are some of the best guitarist in the world Eric Clapton and A guy who died in an accident from Lynard Skinner and he makes the guitar cry! UNBELIEVABLE!
Brenda Lee's Rocking Around the Christmas 🎄 has been my favourite Christmas carol since I was a little girl in the 70s. 😊 Hello from Ontario, Canada! 👋
"little miss dynamite" was 15-16 when she made this a hit. she had her first big hit at arout 8 yrs old, and from then on she was the main breadwinner for her household.
She is one of the greatest crossover artist ever. She was a huge country singing star who also did rock & roll music. Her most famous song is the (1958) multi platinum song title "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." This song is played everywhere around the world during the Christmas holidays. And it has become more popular due to being in hundreds of movies over the years. If when you go shopping in many stores during the Christmas season. This song is being played over and over again. That is how popular the song has become. It is also one of the most played songs in movies. The song "I'm Sorry." Came out in (1960). It went to number one in both country and rock music charts. She was a small package, and a bundle of energy set to music. You can never go wrong going down the rabbit hole that this Brenda Lee. Great reaction as always... Note: Here are some of her best songs to react to. The End of the World (1963), All Alone Am I (1963), Fool Number One (1960), Losing You (1963), Sweet Nothins' (1960), Jambalaya (1963) perform live on the Ed Sullivan Show. This song you must react to. She breaks down what Jambalaya means. She first recorded it back in (1958).

“Golden Earring” pays homage to Brenda Lee in “Radar Love”.
Brenda was one of the early female county music singers. Her song is a classic of all time.
Another great artist from the 60's. Love this lady's voice! 💞
She's so beautiful. She was a teenager then. Still so good.
Doesn't it make you two happy to know that there is still so much more to discover? You've been featuring some of the most iconic voices! I applaud you! 👏 ✌
Brenda Lee, Patsy Cline, Connie Francis... There are so many beautiful songstresses who had this kind of incredible vocal impact.
I love the variety of music you react to, and you are a pure joy to watch! Your chemistry is so positive and you are a wonderful couple. Brenda Lee; such a big voice in a tiny package
I just love her singing, yes she is powerful but so smooth. I just love her Rockin Around the Christmas Tree at such a young age.
She was just 15yrs old when she recorded this song, one of the greatest female singers of all time

SO GREAT TO SEE THIS GO FIND MORE SHE WAS REALLY SMALL WOMAN AND THAT VOICE IS REAL. WHAT YOU HEAR IS REAL. SHE AT A OLDER AGE SOUNDS JUST AS GOOD
Brenda Lee was performing and singing "Sweet Nothing" and "Jambalaya" at the tender age of 8 years old on TV and was killing it.
Incredible no words stunning powerful beyond description one of the best all time...This young girl women deserves so much more credit 10 out of 10
Sounds like she might have had an influence on Ronnie Spector from the Ronettes.

Imminence with new songs Chasing Shadows and Alleviate. Two songs in one video! Violins in metalcore and from Sweden!
There is a video of Brenda singing on Grand Ole Opry, I believe, when she was about 7. She had energy and that voice even then. Try and find this video. It's worth it . Rock Around the Christmas Tree 🌲 is a fun song too. Cheers from Canada
Her Christmas album is classic
I really like your reactions and appreciation for the time when singing artists were a talent standing on their own voices and didn't depend on studio manipulation and using foul language to reach their audiences and touch our hearts with instruments only God can grant. Brenda Lee was one of the ones blessed with a great voice and solo talent.
Had the pleasure of seeing her perform @ the local county fair before she was "big". Though @ 4'9" tall was tiny. She was fantastic though none of us knew she would become such a star.
Song came out in 1960. She was born in 1944. She had many hits. She is so talented!
'Where were we all these years?' Mel asks. Well, that may be true for a lot of folk who are now hearing Lee for the first time and I hope you're realising what a wonderful throaty powerful voice she has (she's now 77) that thrilled so many people at the time.
When I was in high school I had a crush on Brenda Lee. She came to perform at our county fair. I was so excited. I walked two miles to that concert.
Love you guys for loving Brenda Lee. And she could belt like no other, too. As you can probably imagine.
I’m so glad Y’all chose this genre of (my) music! You’re letting people who would normally miss out, get to hear these great tunes. Peace and love to You!
You guys are great - thanks for reacting to this song!!
This song was very popular when I was in single digits age wise. It was something that affected me because I remember the pain I felt for her. She was just a kid. 15 I think. She could sing!
"Losing You" is my favourite Brenda Lee song.
You are exactly right about singing at a young age, I think at the age of two or three. She was winning talent contests at a very young age. All alone am I is another of one of her great hits and of course Rocking around the Christmas tree was one of her best sellers.
No one should be surprised she signed a recording contract at age 13 or 14. Unbelievable voice!!!
You need some "Hell to the Yeah"! merch Ck out Albert Collins aka the Iceman aka King of the strat....Too many dishes in the kitchen live.
One of my mom's favorite singers. Love ya, Mom
Brenda was my Mother’s era but I loved her. My Mother taught us to love her music and my Nana’s music. Then I taught my youngest daughter to love them all the way back to my Nana’s era. My baby was a singer/actor/musician. She could really sing those old ballads but she loves every kind of music. Thank you, it is so long since I heard Brenda sing.
She was 15 when she recorded this song. Brenda is only 4'9". She is known as Little Miss Dynamite Brenda Lee, is an American singer. Recording the song "Dynamite" when she was 12, and was one of the earliest pop stars to have a major contemporary international following. Performing rockabilly, pop and country music, she had 47 US chart hits during the 1960s and is ranked fourth in that decade, surpassed only by Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Ray Charles. She is known for her 1960 hit "I'm Sorry", and 1958's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", which has become a Christmas standard. She was only 13 when she recorded it.
I have loved this song for over 50 years!! Absolutely beautiful.
Omg she sang so beautiful. I grew up watching my grandmother listisong to this. Brings back memories
They used to call her little dynamite back in the day. My high school days again. Thanks so much.
Brenda Lee after her father's death when she was Nine years old became the soul bread winner for her house hold at the age of 11. Her Nick name of "little miss dynamite" was well suited to her, enjoy listening to you both and love the true excitement in your faces at discovering music from the 50s and 60s.
