I think it mostly depends on the child. I did everything for my daughter till she graduated from university. Then she got married and had a baby and is an excellent cook and extremely tidy.

I understand what Sharon is saying. Cleaning is not intuitive and needs to be taught.

I have compassion for the elderly and those with mental health problems who see no way out of the pickle they are in, but I refuse to believe that 4 graduate students were incapable of sorting through this filth. It's shameful.

I'm 73 years old I live in my old family home it has 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms a huge kitchen eat in kitchen living room family room and the 3 bedrooms are up stairs guest rooms once a week I go up there and polish the wood floors and dust then vaccum the area rugs, then another day I clean the main floor I get on my hands and knees to scrub the bathrooms, I have always been a good house keeper, I even ride the lawn mower in the summer and I do all the upkeep on our swimming pool.

Deep respect for these people and others like them who make our world more beautiful one small or large area at a time.

I am amazed at the cleaner & the cleaning materials they used because they were able to restore the original look of everything.

If you did this for me I would be in tears, you aren't doing it for me yet sometimes I shed a tear, the people's homes you clean must be so ill if not physically mentally, I am always so grateful to watch your methods in clearing away the clutter and rubbish your so kind to the unfortunate ones.

They cleaned well, but I’d hate to move here and find out how the place was beforehand. I’d be upset.

I once met a woman, her son and my son were friends in kindergarten. After getting to know her a little, she seemed perfectly normal, she invited us to come over to her house so that our kids could play. I was shocked and horrified at the state of her house. These houses were mild compared to this woman's house. It was really really bad. I just couldn't understand why they lived like that. She was a stay at home mom with two children. They burned wood for heat and there was so much trash and dirty clothes piled up around the wood stove that I worried for their safety. It's obviously a mental health issue, no one in their right mind would choose to live in filth if they didn't have to. She was also very lazy. She had time and money for cleaning supplies. I offered many times to help her get the house in order but she would always decline saying she just wanted to spend our time talking. Her house made my skin crawl.

@@leisurelyarting I know these houses are pretty disgusting, but believe me, it can be worse. Her furniture had a thick crust of what I assume was food, built up and hardened to a shiny shell that you would have to crack to even begin to clean it. Her laundry room was filled with dirty clothes piled up almost to the ceiling. You couldn't even see the washer and dryer. I won't describe the state of her bathroom, but you can use your imagination. Looking back, I'm surprised that she invited us into her home, but it also proves that she didn't really "see" the state of her own house.

I can understand clutter of things. Some people may have alot of clothes and other items and not enough closet or drawer space or not know how to organize to make things fit. What I can't understand is just the trash/garbage/rotten food thrown on the floors, furniture and counters or the nasty poo in the bathrooms. Clutter is one thing, not know how to throw trash away or clean a toilet/bathtub is another.

My house is way cleaner than the one shown in the video, but when i feel depressed i stop organising it.

Wow. This is the first time I saw a house being thoroughly cleaned even removing the appliances to clean. The cleaning materials looks super effective too. You make it look lile it's easy to clean things

This past May I was involved in an accident. My hip and femur were broken (right side). After surgery, I stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks, then at an rehab center for a month and a half. When I finally got to my house, dishes were piled up, my floors were black (I’m not kidding) and several piles of clothes on the floor (in front of the washing machine). I couldn’t get my wheelchair close to the washer, I had to stand up to load it. I wish now that I could hired a crew like these guys, so I would not have to do all of that cleaning by myself. All of what was done in my house was from my roommate (male 71 years old) and my 36 year old son.

Absolutely unforgivable! I fainted and was in the hospital for as long as you....I broke my leg and couldn't come home for 3 months because I was visiting my daughter in another state and couldn't travel. When I came home everything was as I had left it only better! I am 73. My husband and granddaughter had the kitchen sparkling and my husband did many improvements to the house. They are still cooking and cleaning while I recover from a second surgery on my leg...and they are not complaining! Your roommate and son need to fork over money to clean the place up or find another place to live. I would be livid and if they dared to ask me ANYTHING....I would make them wish they never approached me again until they either moved out or took over the chores every day! How dare them? Self entitled morons. No body gets a free pass...everything they left in my path would be tossed out. Marie D

I still need my wheelchair when I’m hurting. You’re so lucky and blessed to have such a wonderful husband and granddaughter! I’m sorry about your broken leg. I do hope that you heal fast! @British vlog I have lived in the UK for years and have seen the most unclean and unhygenic houses! Most Indians even if their houses are small live more hygienically then you guys! I suppose you wouldn't know as you would have not travelled much or maybe just lived in very filthy places.

Really does it sounds like you have been very sheltered and have no idea about severe depression and not being able to move and dyeing inside have you ever thought they might have severe depression they may have lost there children even watching there own baby being born dead or there child dyeing in a car crash maybe think first before you criticise others

I am so sorry those college students left a place in that condition 😢 😞 😔. It really made me sick on the stomach to see you all work so diligently to make this place suitable to live in again. Some people seems to be so entitled to destroy other's property. Blessings to the ones who cleaned this place, because I wouldn't have the stomach to clean behind these animals.

Wow, it turn to a brand new house..i have 8 child, once a month we do a spring cleaninh..each child given 1 area to clean.of course kitchen is moms area..the most tidious part to clean

When I first meet my sister in law we went to her house and when we entered the house it worse like this my 3 years old daughter wanted to used her bathroom and when she saw how filthy it is said to me, “ I am just going hold it”.

This is why landlords do annual inspections. They need to look after their properties and get rid of tenants that aren't taking care of them. I would have kept their deposits to pay for all the cleaning that needed to be done. Great job to the cleaners!

The black liquid which was grimy and dirty explained it all. I was a student but I wouldn’t share with other dirty students 😂 My mum gave me pocket money when I was a child to do my chores. I’m doing the same with my kids. If my teenager wanted pocket money she has to tidy her room once a wk and Hoover upstairs and load/unload dishes for me. It wasn’t easy with teenagers. I ve to nag her, to change her bedsheets I ve to pull out her bedding for her and leave new ones for her to do. You ve to persevere with teenagers, they r hard work. Her study s A **student. So I ve to see the positive in her and hopefully when she s older she ll remember what I teach her 😂

I am a landlord and I encountered such nasty tenants and I personally experienced cleaning the worst garbage I ever imagine in my life. I hired cleaners but they do superficial only so ended up cleaning myself. I need the service of these professional cleaning crew very detailed and thorough.
