Omega Seamaster Professional 2532.80

Ойын-сауық

This review features the watch that James Bond made famous, with one noticeable difference: the high polished stainless steel bezel. In this video, I offer my review of the watch along with some reflections on the decision-making, watch buying process. I also lay out reasons why I would highly recommend that you consider the reference 2532.80.00 for your collection.

I saw this version of the seamaster the first time on your channel and I LOVE IT. I love the thin, old fashioned, elegant look of the seamaster (my grandfather wears an old tag which looks quite similar and I loved it since I was a little child). The classic style with the unbelievable beautiful bracelet combined with the high polished bezel.. that's perfection. Great video. I always loved the seamaster but the love for it increased a lot because of you :D

Head vs. heart, is a very interesting topic for discussion. We often get watches because they tick various boxes that we think we need to tick, only to find that there is no bonding with the watch over time. I've had a few like that and feel its part of the hobby and helped me to further refine my tastes and know exactly what I want in the future. Yeah, I lost a few hundred dollars on the flip but feel that I know myself better and what will and won't work for me. Glad to see you so happy with this Seamaster, and I hope it provides both you and your son decades of delightful service.

Wow, what a watch! And what a great story behind its purchase. I didn't realise that a steel bezel version was ever made, but it would definitely be my first choice too! The watch just looks stunning with the polished bezel and the sapphire crystal reflecting the light. I have one watch with a ceramic bezel insert, and like you mentioned, after going ceramic, settling for anything less (like scratch-prone painted aluminium) is pretty hard to take, but high polished and etched steel? Well, that's just a no-brainer! Sure so you need to keep a polishing cloth within reach at all times lol that's a small price to pay for such a gorgeous timepiece! Big congrats on scooping up a great find! 👌🏻

You would think this bezel is really loud and potentially attracting too much attention, but in my experience it actually often looks more dark grey gun metal than blinding you with light except if you're in a very bright area and the light hits it just right, so to anyone thinking of buying it concerned it might look too gaudy, you won't come off too ostentatious with this piece. Besides, most people don't notice watches these days anymore. wear it in health!

I have the same watch I bought brand new in 1999/2000. Every other watch I have tried on leaves me unsatisfied. The stainless bezel allows a bit more versatility, beach to tuxedo dinner no problem. I pretty much wear it everyday, and have had it serviced twice in 18 years. It keeps time almost perfectly, just remember that you need to wind it up if you take it off for any extended period.

Just picked up a late 60s Genéve with a black dial for those dress occasions, and I'm currently looking for something between the two (from a formality perspective) with a white or very light dial, like an AT or this Olympic White Gold version when I win the lottery: www.ablogtowatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Omega-Seamaster-Olympic-Games-Gold-Collection-aBlogtoWatch-03-244x300.jpg

I had a Bulova Marine Star that was very close in design to the Seamaster. The blue bezel got so beat up and faded over just a few years. That's what put me off to the blue aluminum bezel. The stainless steel is really a good solution, I think.
