For me, it's the 300 'heritage'. Always loved the design, hated the 'faux patina' lume. But in summer blue this issue is no more...

I like fume dials so the deep dark blues work for me. Summer blue released in winter, i got a good giggle about that.

I am 100% with you on the ploprof. I always wanted one but didn’t find one that really pleased me. Seems we sgree on thd Mudmaster ss well 😊 (GWG-2000-1A3ER here, the grey version), i wear the Mudmaster more than anything else. Your analyzing skills are spot on.

Love the new Ploprof as well, especially being slightly smaller and slimmer. The blue is nice, but hoping they make a traditional black dial version eventually in the new case

I love that omega started to imitate the save the ocean 🌊 initiative of Seiko. I wish they also follow on Seiko’s initiative to donate portion of sales to saving mother earth or anything good. Great designs always a refreshing feeling to see great dials.

I would love the 300 and I would solve that bracelet problem with a mesh bracelet. Nice review.

Excellent, excellent review. I agree with with all of your points %100. That said, I actually like the non-tapering Diver bracelet, I think it’s unique and a staple of the SMP300 design but I wouldn’t object to a technical upgrade, especially to the clasp.

Fair enough about the bracelet - And yes, as a bare minimum, quick adjust, technical upgrades, 21st century features - They have to deliver that as standard by now Cheers! 😀😀

You’re right about the color gradient. The best dial for me is the 300M, i just need an Uncle Seiko bracelet for it. I’m thinking about buying it on the rubber strap.

That might be the solution - or just get the steel bracelet and put it in storage in the eventuality that you sell the watch some day with a pristine bracelet 😀

Not a fan of vintage remakes so quite happy here. I have the blue/white titanium ploprof and love it for all the things you said; very industrial and quite garish! exactly as it should be. Its the only watch I own that ever gets any comments. And is always worn on that lairy blue rubber strap too😉

Fair point - Basically to me the fact that the Ploprof is less "toolish" with the changes is what appeals to me. In some ways though some purists will definitely find that offputting 😀

Mike as always a big thank for your explanation of the aesthetics etc of the Omega Seamaster - not my cup of tea . . . BUT fascinated by the Sinn 105 UTC . . . although . . . yet another German watch (NOMOS and now Sinn) a local watch repair shop does not include on their service list. Although the watch uses a modified premium sellita movement --- the shop should be able to source the parts.

Nice take on this release. I wonder if the Seamaster 300M is going to get a redesign soon. There are so many versions and colour ways that it feels like this Summer Blue edition could be a last hurrah. Like Pagani releasing "new" versions of the Zonda every couple years before finally replacing it. I went to my AD the other day to try on the Black Bay GMT, and while there I tried the green Seamaster, and loved it. For all the hate the bracelet gets, I actually really liked it in person, which surprised me. Since Tudor is rolling out METAS certified movements on all the Black Bays soon, I wonder if that will add pressure to Omega to redesign some of their staples. It will be hard to part with the extra money for a Seamaster once the Black Bays are all METAS as well. Great video!

Omega, I think are kind of living in their own world. A seamaster update would be a huge surprise to me I think the new Olympics seamaster has quick release bracelet now… which is a huge thing for Omega ….

I like the collection . I have a bunch of monster dive watches in my collection , so I think the 38mm Seamaster would make a good contrast as a dress watch amongst the monsters

@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch That is an awesome choice. I think mine would be a strange pick. Black bay bronze, slate grey dial on a NATO. It would be exposed to sweat and be my water buddy when I want to cool down....hoping for a great patina.

Great video. I agree with everything, particularly the poor choice for the more feminine styling version on the 38mm Aqua Terra. I would add that I don't like how they got rid of the sapphire casebacks on all the models for the engraved backs. If I have to tolerate a chunkier, but more technically advanced co-axial movement, I at least want to see it. On some of the models (not Ploprof), the price premium is also quite steep without any additional technical or design changes from the regular models.

Just around 7 inches. Slightly under 18cm (depending on burgers eaten, and outside temperature and the curvature of the earth) 😂😂

My opinion is quite the same with yours except some minor things (subjective): I have the SMP 300m green bezel. First when I saw the bracelet I was like: omg what did they do ?! But after some days wearing it I started liking it (probably it reminded me a bit of my old vostok amphibia bracelet which is quite the same). The Ploprof is to aggressive to my taste (probably would buy Panerai instead). I think all new timepieces are very nice: I don't like aqua terra ones ... (as you mentioned to feminine). What they did with the ultra deep (omega was here) is very cool. Interesting thing is that this year marks 75 years of the Seamaster line up and 30 years of the Seamaster diver watch: Maybe Omega has some final Ace to surprise us later this year? :)

I was really hoping they would have redesigned the 300M, at the very least that outdated bracelet. I thought that the 75th anniversary would have surely been that moment. Nice color scheme but overall I'm drastically underwhelmed.

Modern Omega design language just isn’t for me. If Omega ever came out with an updated 1165.024 big triangle they would definitely take my money. I have a homage (pretty much a 1 for 1 copy) of that watch-Helson Sharkmaster 300. Basically I’m a big fan of much older Seamaster designs. Best regards 😎
