The thing about M43 not being able to get subject separation is rubish made by some youtubers that know nothing about photography and only look at gear specs. I own both systems, m43 (Oly and Pana) and FF (Sony), and I can only say that they are both amazing tools. Of course that FF will give more separation on equivalent focal length at the same f-stop, but saying M43 don't give you that is just stupid. If someone knows how to work with f-stop, focal length, distance to subject and distance from subject to background, only trained eyes will notice the difference. The Olympus 45mm f1.8 (a very cheap and fantastic lens) is an absolute gem and will give very pleasant look to portraits, for example. Thanks for this nice video. Cheers from Portugal.

3:55 Yes I like the close focusing on the 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO (Mark I version), which allows for great separation if subject from background as well as interesting close m-ups.

I've been invested in M43 since 2012 and the OM-D series have been excellent for rugged outdoors work- my 12-40 Pro and 40-150 Pro have survived over seven years of rain, saltwater splashes, sand, dirt and fish slime and deliver fast AF and pin-sharp image quality. No other brand does the complete package of lenses and bodies with the splash-proofing. Some examples in my video collection. And then there's the IBIS, close focus and functions like in-camera focus stacking and live-composite ...

    I bought a 12-40 pro and a 25mm 1.8 around 6 months ago and i have never looked back. I am thinking of picking up the 7 - 14 and a 45 - 150 to add to the collection

17:41 I noticed that the 17mm gives really nice out of focus background texture at f/1.8.

3:42 Not sure that the 17mm f/1.8 is weather sealed. I think it isn't - and that's why it's not a Pro lens I would guess. Some people love that lens; some people don't - but I think it's lovely and it's my standard lens. However, I'm not that demanding, being a rank amateur! The old 17 f/2.8 was actually a pancake lens. I believe there was a 25mm too but both replaced by he f/1.8s. The 17/1.8 is almost but not quite pancake but it's pretty cool that they get the manual focus clutch on such small lenses as the 17/1.8 and 12/2.0!

3:55 On your 12-40, how far is the infinity mark from actual infinity focus? Mine seem to rotate in the manual focus clutch a fair way past infinity but the actual infunity is fairly close to the actual mark. Infinity at 12mm is a little away from infinity at 40mm.
