You guys might want to know that here in Japan there are a set of workbooks to get japanese kids enthusiastic about learning their language, and the mascot/narrator is a mound of poop, whilst all the example sentences are anecdotes about poop. I think it might be right up Ollie's alley - if he ever considered learning Japanese!

There's a German illustrated book for children as well: *"Vom kleinen Maulwurf, der wissen wollte, wer ihm auf den Kopf gemacht hat", literally "About the little mole, that wanted to know, who 'did' [poo-poo] on his head"* There's even an article on English Wikipedia about it. The book is basically about how the mole went to all various animals with the poo on his head and was asking them "was it you who pooped on my head?" while pointing at it. Animals would respond "no, that's not my poo, my poo doesn't look like that, it looks like this *poos*".

Ollie at 2:18 is literally me when i once had a pack of kimchi ramen in my hand - i spent three minutes trying to read the writing in hangeul while unbeknownst to me right next to it was the exact same thing in english. guess what the writing in both languages said. exactly. "kimchi ramen"

It's less funny when you get it right but I also get a very weird sense of satisfaction when you succeed

Honestly one of the biggest tricks I've used to learn korean is to fake it until you make it. use the words you learn everyday in daily life, role-play, write stories honestly you can forget about some grammatical errors because you can fix them and learn later on this is something that really benefit my korean learning journey. 🙂
