영어권에서 남자가 입는 속옷은 그냥 'underwear'라고 쓰고, 여자가 입는 속옷을 'pantie'라고해서 올리가 재미있어했을듯. 사실 이건 모든 외국인들이 재미있어하는것 중 하나죠 ㅋㅋㅋ

I think the main problem with learning to say ㅆ vs ㅅ for English speaker is that ㅆ is phonetically written in English as "ss" and ㅅ as "s", but "s" often just sounds like the double constant in English. (e.g. 'Sign' is pronounced like a double consonant.) In fact, when "s" at the beginning of the word is followed by a vowel, it will sound more like a ㅆ than a ㅅ (e.g. sequel, some). On the other hand, if it is followed by a consonant (e.g. smooth, scam), it will sound more like a ㅅ. In Korean, however, all the ㅅ will be accompanied by a vowel (e.g. 삼성. 사다.), and phonetically they are written "Samsung", "sada", which will inevitably be read as 쌈썽, 싸다. So... I think it may be helpful if you start thinking of the single consonant 'ㅅ' as the odd, airy 's'. I am not sure if this will help, but try thinking that there is a gigantic 'h' hiding behind the 's' sound ? (e.g. sahmsuhng, sahda vs samsung, sada). Good luck with your studies in Korean! :)

근데 샀다와 쌌다를 구별할수 있는 문장이 많지만 구분할 수 없는문장이면 웃기긴할듯... 예를들어 화장실 얘기 하는데 갑자기 자기가 쇼핑센터에서 산거 자랑한다고 마 맞다, 나 이거 쌌다(?) 라고 하면 순간읭? 하면서 진짜 빵 터질 듯 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
