This scene and one in an early season, where Mellie tells him he's turned into Big Jerry are outstanding moments for the actor playing Fitz. You can see the horror in his eyes when he hears that and when each time he realizes they are right. Becoming his father his his nightmare and both Mellie and Olivia know that.

Really hard to watch him suffer, acting out this way! Melodrama. He’s no more interested in those distractions than she is. 🙄 That’s why she had to talk to him straight, no chaser! Accepting Fitz like she does, Liv is hoping for him to finally accept her as she is too. A gilded White House cage is still a cage. He blew it trying to make her fit a prefab mold when it was her unconventional broke-the-mold style that attracted him in the first place.

Regardless of Her being a hypocrite or not, she had a point and she hit the nail on the head

And she even admitted to that in season 7 while talking to Fitz. Fitz would do anything for Olivia,All he wanted was a real relationship with her but she was scared and ran from him because she was taught the love is weakness and power is everything!

@@danneshathompson619 nonsense again and misunderstanding! 💔 liv’s not running away but giving fitz the time he says he needs. both only living it their own way (though probably make more sense for both to live like they’re preparing for life partnership together rather than a last hurrah!). truth is, the #divinetiming is now to work it out. skirmish is good. once they’re glued to one another, embarrassed because they can’t part having to wait so long and trying to CONSTANTLY catch up, everything will be worth it. no mellie, no jake, all in the way(!) just last standing #GladiatorsOfLove 😆🤩🙏🏽☯️❤️🪴

Olivia may be a hypcrite but when youre looking at a situation from the outside you see how bad things really are so she was obviously trying to stop it

How is Olivia a hypocrite here? The only person she was sleeping with at this time was Jake. Whereas Fitz was getting it on with just about everyone. Anyhoo at the end of the day, Mellie and Abby knew Olivia was the one who could get him to stop and she did albeit dramatically...

Because that was NONE of her business. He is a single man, he can sleep with whoever he wants, he's not married anymore or harming anyone by doing so.. mellie needs to stop dropping by randomly and set up a schedule to drop her son off with Fitz so that women will not be there on those specific days. Olivia needs to go mind her damn business, she's just upset that Fitz is enjoying himself with other women

Hey, Yvette you are right he can move on with his life .keep in mind he is the President of the Union state. So what he do inside the white house affected the whole country. Fitz is in pain from the break up with Olivia. So he lashing out,seeking comfort from someone else. Is he happy? No.! They are not Olivia. Olivia was sent to stop him for that's what she does. She is a Fixer. Olivia care what he does because she still loves him and to see him with some one else hurts.😦😢👜👞👓

They both need to stop denying and create the life they both dream of in the present, THE GIFT. Fitz and his wrong impressions! What good does lashing out do? Waste of energy could be spent on nuzzling one another, imo. Olivia is solo dolo (Fitz should be , too!) but once vow of commitment to one another, one-on-one, touching hands, closed relationship. That is all. 🎯

I think Mellie told Olivia about this just because at the end of the day he only ever listens to Olivia whether they are together or not. Coming from her though she does seem like a hypocrite but she low key jealous too. Olivia left him and so what is he supposed to do just sit around pining over her? Fitz has never been single before. He was married to Mellie for over 20 years and was on and off with Olivia so he's having fun and there's nothing wrong with that. She can play games and sleep with Jake all she wants to but she wants Fitz to be there for when she's ready to come back cause in the past she's always been able to just come in and out of his life anytime she felt like it. Just the thought that maybe he's moved on frightens her. Her bringing up his father wasn't right cause her father aint no better. Just a reason to see her boo again cause she still loves him and she don't want him to do anything to jeopardize his last days in the white house.

Murmurs get both their hearts racing and throbbing. Can only imagine what it will be like breath to breath, Fitz’s baritone groaning lost in love… 💚☯️❤️ Olivia is a patient woman.
