OLIGHT i5R EOS Flashlight | 90 Day Review
I've been using the OLIGHT i5R on and off for the past 90 days and here are my thoughts. There is also a beam comparison between the i5R, OLIGHT i5T, OLIGHT i3T, and the Lumintop Tool AA v2.0. I've included some links down below and I put together an intro package for those just getting into higher-end flashlights that also includes a charger for lithium ion batteries and with my coupon code it still comes in less than an i5R.

The run times of the I5r is outstanding.

I just don't see myself using that form factor light for that long. If I need a light source for more than a few moments/minute I will usually opt for a bigger light. What's your favorite EDC light?

It really depends on what you use it for. In 9/10 cases I also go for a bigger light, I'd say the Warrior X3 positively blew me away for allround use. But I do have an i5T in my Bible bag, and it is amazing on the low output for reading in low light conditions! I would not want to hold the X3 for hours when I can use the i5T, and even the low output would reflect too much on the pages. Just ordered an i5R because why not.
Thanks for the honest and in depth review. There are definitely better options for the price and size. Keep up the good work. I think you should review the Lumintop tool separately, sounds like a great light

@@IllinoisDailyCarry I have a video idea: review of the Lumintop tool and maybe comparison of the Lumintop EDC AA if you have it? Seems like these lights are great for the size

@@WooSungShim Will do. I have compared it in the beam shots but I'll have to do a review of that one specifically. Thanks!
i love my copper i5r. the run times are much better than the i5t.

@@IllinoisDailyCarry it handled the 14500 out of a Lumintop tool aa 2.0 battery perfectly fine
Hi. Do you sometimes have such an effect when turning on the i5R as if there is a double pulse something like stabilization of the light output? It lasts for a fraction of a second, but it is noticeable and does not occur as if you turn on the flashlight several times in short intervals. Greetings.

I haven't noticed. Though I will say my i5R doesn't see a lot of pocket time since there a quite a few alternatives I prefer.

@@IllinoisDailyCarry Thank you for your answer.
Isn't the i5r the same as an i5t except the i5r comes with a rechargeable battery?
@IllinoisDailyCarry

Guessing you meant as the i5T. Basically the same but a little higher output and rechargeable battery.
I love powerful lights, throwers and flooders... but I started getting these and have a few. To me it's great for the size, doesn't require disposable batteries but they are an option in a long term situation. Definitely cheaper to collect than other Olights.

Grab some sanyo eneloops and you've got rechargeable batteries for the regular i5T. Personally, I'd rather run a i3t with 10440 cell.
What is the brightness when using NiMH batteries?

@@IllinoisDailyCarry With the greatest respect, are you sure about that? Is it only with alkaline batteries that it kicks out 200 or so lumens? If I use nimh rechargeables it’ll do 350 lumens? Thanks

@@IllinoisDailyCarry sorry you know about those :p...edit: when you mentioned Sofirn in another video, it broke me out of the youtuber marketing trap I was in. So many only mention the expensive popular brands.
The clip on the Lumintop Tool really sucks 👎👎👎 that's why I don't buy it again even when the light is a better deal....

I want to say I read somewhere that it can be swapped for a different one but could just have been a dream. I'll have to do some googling.
