Asami has been working hard on her English pronunciation. Her consonants are getting a lot better than a couple years back.

Still work to do, it's the only thing that annoy me a little ;) But This is on of my best discoveries of the past years. Tight pack, may they keep going.

Miyako's fine control of her fingers and use of vibrato are amazing.

Lovebites amazing as usual. Miyako played her new Dean V signature guitar. A few weeks ago she did an unboxing video of this guitar on her official KZread channel.

"Hammer of Wrath" live. "Swan song" live..."Empty Daydream" live. The last 2 being ones you will see piano!!

That v guitar is a custom made for Miyako. She presented that baby on a video. MIYAKO custom flying v dean guitars

Asami definitely has a gospel singing background. That last note of hers is definitely from the gospel singing playbook. Wow!!!! Just wow.

About this Helloween cover: Lovebites performed at big Wacken Open Air 2018 becoming the first Japanese all-female rock band to appear at the German festival. At this festival they got to watch the german dino power metal band Helloween from backstage. Haruna's style is influenced by Helloween's drummer Uli Kusch.🤘

About Miyako's guitar, it's actually her own signature Dean which she got towards the end of last year. There are videos on here(with English subtitles) of her opening it, testing it for the first time, and going over the specs and exactly what she chose for it if you want more details.

@@andreaspedersen3952 she does but has 3 dean guitars and a Gibson les Paul that she switches out for different songs from time to time but mostly performs with her dean (USA ICON Flame top ) and the black ML series

@@andreaspedersen3952 She has one Dimebag Signature model, then there is the USA flame top model which she calls "Big Sister" to her signature Flying V that she is playing here, called "Little Sister". Miyako started her own YT channel, in which the first few videos are the unboxing and testing of the entire axe, plus playing When Destinies Align. It's definitely worth subscribing to.

I knew Haruna, Midori, and my girl Miyako could throw down with the best of them, but I hadn't heard Miho do it yet. I had a feeling that she had it in her, but I hadn't seen it so far. Now I have, and it makes me quite happy. What a treat these five musicians are.

Miho's usually less up-front flashy because she's playing what the song really needs, bass-wise (and doing it superbly...as a gigging musician, let me say she's _exactly_ what you want in a bassist), but when the right time comes, she's got serious chops. \m/

Miyako used to play the Dimebag Special, but it's not a V, more a Z. As others have commented here, this is her own signature Dean. You can buy it if you want, for a few Gs. So, Kudos to you for learning their names, and I'm happy to see you going down the rabbit hole. There is a ton more for you to see.

@@trevoredwards2936 I have my club in Poland to cheer Polonia Warsaw and the rest are indifferent to me. I like football in general and players like Xavi Hernandez, Messi, Ronaldo1, Ronaldo2 or Lewandowski. I love football like Lovebites. For example I was watching Leicester-Southampton yesterday :).

By the way. When you get around to doing "Swan Song" make sure you get a version with the Chopin piano prologue. Type in "Lovebites + Swan Song {Frédéric Chopin Prologue}" to get the complete version.

Hey Richard! That flying V is Miyako's own signature Dean model. But, she does play a Dean ML (Dimebag's shape), with a black burst finish if im not mistaken, you will eventually see it on their Live videos as it is her down tuned guitar for certain songs where they play in drop D tuning. I saw a video on her YT channel where she is wearing a Pantera t-shirt and when asked about it, she refered to Dimbag as "legend", she clearly is inspired by him too! Both Band Maid and Lovebites are playing Live shows (i mean actual Live shows not online) in Japan early on this year and both have their shows completely sold out. Hopefully Europe and USA are next on the list. Cant wait for the day it happens! Also just in case you don't know Band Maid are releasing a new album this month and Lovebites a new EP (4 songs) in March. Enjoy and stay safe!

People should just stop thinking in cliches, in the end its either good music and you like it or not, who cares if people put it into this drawer or another ? Just like in my youth people thought classicial music is only for old people (ok no i m old) but look about the whole symphonic rock and metal stuff and how many of the best metal musicians have indeed classical training. Miako here at least is also a classical trained concert pianist.

Yeah, there are some reviewers say that Asami the singer's voice doesn't fit metal. I wonder, is metal such a conservative music? Is metal a cultural legacy? It doesn't rock. No country singers sing like Hank Williams now days, no jazz musician plays like Benny Goodman any longer, Chuck Berry and Elvis were odd singers when they were freshmen, how about Beatles and Stones, Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, even "classic music" keeps changing for hundreds of years. Why does only metal refuse new taste? And, some reviewers get obsessed by Asami's accent in English, she speaks perfectly her mother tongue though. Is foreign accent an element of music? Isn't it matter of philology? Is it, metal must be sung in perfect English? Does music belong only to English speakers? Is it right to push out brilliant and outstanding singers from metal for such reasons like non-metal like voice and foreign accent? There are very peculiar reviewers in metal.

You need to check out "Burden of Time" in the same setting. Our favorite ninja Miyako does something pretty cool......

bassplayer miho is often drowned in the mix. not here. and how fantastic she is. by the way: the "ride the lightning" shirt is cool too. and helloween fan haruna is singing along. I love these ladies.

her vocals cant compare to kiske, but she will hold her own, helloween is a band i was raised on and love the tune, these girls do rock simply because they do, let alone doing this song to this degree. have you heard any modern Micheal Kiske stuff? his voice has gotten a neat trick in it that took me a while to figure out and now that i too do it i have a hard time not doing it even when i shouldnt, look for Kiske/Summerville, city of heros

I mean, Kiski has such an iconic voice, it's kinda unfair to compare the two anyway. Also a cover doesn't have to be a carbon copy of the original.

Not evven close. Remember when Helloween did this stuff there wasn't the effecs there are today, eg, the Kempers that are being used.

Hearing this song being sang by anyone but Michael Kiske is so weird, and this is not the shot at this fine lady, even Helloween other singers couldn't do it properly, it's just one of those songs that the original singer made it so his, it really shouldn't be covered by anyone else, even Helloween playing it with Andy was eh, just play some other songs, you got like 50 that are good enough to make the set list.

Despite her talent on many instruments, Miyako is far behind Midori when it comes to "metal" behavior, either on stage or IRL.

Midori then - thanks God - is also far behind the usual "metal" clowns, who just feed silly cliches of the "metal business" and care more for show than the music. But what's really almost insulting, is you are kind of implying they should show more "metal behavior" (I really better don't start about what that is supposed to be) in real life? What a joke!!! Whatever, luckily I'm pretty sure, that they just stay as they are ... on stage and in real life.

Your problem is that you're trying to pigeonhole Miyako by saying "When it comes to metal". Miyako is more blues and fusion influenced, as one of her biggest influences is Gary Moore, while Midori is influenced by Yngwie Malmsteen and others. By your logic on this, Toni Iommi isn't "metal behavior", because he is more blues influenced, and Sabbath basically started metal.

Miyako is behind nobody. She's one of the world's best guitarists playing today. She and Midori do different things, but combine superbly.

I like Miyako's style of playing quietly, silently and intensively. It reminds me of a reticent but highly skilled craftsman. Modest, quiet, diligent and shy, she is a typical Japanese girl.

@@athlonen Nope, Sabbath didn't start metal, there was no "metal" at the time, just blues, rock and hard rock.

I still can't get past the vocals . That constant vibrato in her voice is irritating. just my opinion.

After all it's mostly a matter of taste ... but I feel somehow sorry for you. At the very beginning I was kind of irritated by her voice too. But then I was immediately overwhelmed by the whole LOVEBITES package. And now I love Asami's singing skills as much as the intstrumental skills of the other members. I even can't and don't want to imagine LOVEBITES anymore without anyone of those "Five of a Kind". I have a maybe similar problem with the wide-spread inflation of "growling". There are many songs with actually great guitar work and great rythm section I have to drop, because I can stand that "growling" only to a very limited extend in special constellations.

I want the drummer to learn another way to play. Maybe even two. I keep trying different songs, and I must be just unlucky or something, but it's always double bass real fast and snare every second beat. One day I'll hear something else, but not so far. And the vibrato is a bit much yes.

What do you expect when you're bringing in someone from R'n'B? I mean when you listen to it, Dickinson, Bach, Coverdale, Rose, Dokken, LaBrie.. all of them use heavy vibrato, with dickinson really standing out.. This is no different. You could put Asami in for Dickinson and Iron Maiden would definitely sound the same. Same would go for if you took out Joey Belladonna and put Asami in for Anthrax.

I'm sorry...But Miho needs to go see either Misa or Koga and they need to have a girls only bass camp. Her little solo was weak and clearly needs some improvement. Maybe could be the song. But...Yeah clearly room for improvement.

Unfortunately Miho doesn't play slap bass technique, not sure if it will fit in power metal. To be fair Lovebites have great twin guitars shredder, the slap bass would likely fit better in rock, hardrock or jazz

@@AngelLWJ I strictly try to avoid using such words for myself in my comments, because even when I actually see it appropriate and already think it, I don't want to go down on a low level ... but Angel ... damn, to be honest, you just nailed it! ;-) Now I just guess regarding to yolandria's kind of comment, because I actually don't know, who Misa or Koga are and I resist the impact to google it right now ... at least one of them belongs to Band-Maid?
