In my country we have to pay 120 dollars to take a crt tv to the recycling center but most of use just chuck them into landfill because it coats to much
tube TVs are not bad news they they are the best type of TVs that where made

cat number 5 Alan Jackson fan / Conway twitty fan yea but there's a lead and lacer layer over the phosphor particles which is really harm ful
part of the problem is scrappers coming and busting the tubes to get the copper out of them and then no one will take it. So it has to be put in the garbage.
I have 35 crt tvs and no waste of time flatscreens peices of garbage.

I agree I bought my TV in July of 1998 and the thing still works that's the difference between these cheap flat panel TVs over the old tube TVs the old ones last alot longer then the new tvs

@@Bobbythefanman I have a 1984 trinitron I play ps2 games on. Works great and was used heavily by my Grandma from what I hear.

They are super easy to recycle, sandpaper is all you need to get rid of that lead on the glass! The medium finer the better!

And what do you do with the lead?
Well what do you know? "Old CRT style televisions are bad because they contain mercury and lead." We really are our own worst enemies now aren't we?

At leased if they are left on the street RETRO GAMERS can use them cuz retro games know that the old games they love look like absolute trash on modern tvs. There is also still mercury in modern tvs so...
Give them to artist like me!!
