Old Time Detective Compilation👉 Philip Marlowe/ Episode 3/OTR With Beautiful Scenery/HD

Ойын-сауық

Raymond Chandler's famous detective Philip Marlowe was brought to life for radio on June 17, 1947.
The average wage was around $2,800.00 a year and gas would set you back 15 cents a gallon. Times were good and radio was the source for news and home entertainment. Marlowe was considered to be more "hard-boiled" than the other radio detectives at the time and was soon a favorite for audiences. Van Heflin and Gerald Mohr each played Marlowe with Mohr taking over once the show moved from NBC to CBS.

Yeah, I used listen to them when I was a kid at night, then when I was in the US Army over in Germany back in 1957/ 1959, they were on AFN at night. "America Forces Network"

I love this particular series, Philip Marlowe featuring, Gerald Mohr. I remember him in the movies, also. Everytime, I saw him he always seemed to play a "bad" guy/gangster type. I enjoy the backgrounds to this series especially rain sequences. Take care 📻

Get this and get it straight. Crime is a sucker's road and those who travel it wind up in the gutter, the prison or the grave. There's no other end...but they never learn.

I am enjoying these but Marlowe must have a really hard head. He gets hit on the head in just about every episode. And everyone gets the drop on him.
