Old Time Detective Compilation👉 Philip Marlowe/ Episode 2/OTR With Beautiful Scenery/HD

Ойын-сауық

Raymond Chandler's famous detective Philip Marlowe was brought to life for radio on June 17, 1947.
The average wage was around $2,800.00 a year and gas would set you back 15 cents a gallon. Times were good and radio was the source for news and home entertainment. Marlowe was considered to be more "hard-boiled" than the other radio detectives at the time and was soon a favorite for audiences. Van Heflin and Gerald Mohr each played Marlowe with Mohr taking over once the show moved from NBC to CBS.

I love the street scenes. Probably filmed for those scenes in movies where the actors are driving in a car and the scene is played behind them. I think I end up focusing more on the background more than the story. I could watch street scenes all day

@@HearthandHomeEntertainment I used to live in LA, and when Gerald Mohr says "Cheremoya" or "Wilshire" I know what he means. These are a treat. Infinitely more entertaining than anything on Notflix. Thank you.

Unlike William Conrad Gerald Mohr had both the voice and appearance to be a leading man but Conrad was the superior actor on both Radio and TV.
