This is the first dragstrip I ever went to as a kid .. We lived 5 miles from this track on the outskirts of Morocco Indiana .. I could hear them running from our house

Hi all, can someone please explain to me where the term Gasser comes from and why the cars have the high front end and relocated front axle stance. Crazy bonkers cars by the way, awesome 👌. D

Gasser was a slang term for the gas class of drag cars from the late fifties till the seventies. The nose high stance was to help weight transfer as a traction aid. By the mid sixties the nose high stance started to go away as better drag slicks became available
