@@stitches768 I think the main reason is actually more due to rhymes sounding pleasant to most people. Kinda hard to explain, but it creates a sort of sense of "completion" if that makes sense. Hence why it's not just children songs that tend to rhyme a lot, and why we have many other things with a lot of rhyming like basic poetry. The memory thing was likely discovered a bit later.

Rhyming also helps children to predict and anticipate the direction in which a story or song might go. That's why as they get older it's really good for them to try and guess what words might come next in the rhyme, or what might happen on the next page or in the next verse of a song :)

There were three cartoons I watched that taught the colors of the rainbow. Cat in the Hat, Peppa Pig, and Micky Mouse Clubhouse. The one that taught me the best was Micky Mouse. The crew just said, "Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple." No extra words or using Indigo and Violet.
