Old Norse rites in every day life

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

We are all busy in our lives and often do not have time to organise rituals. However some simple rituals can be performed in our own living spaces quickly.
Many of us do not live in areas with Heathen or Asatru or pagan communities, and so we do not have events in our area we can attend. For us without groups in our area we can still perform rites.
Blot is the primary ritual of the Old Norse, a ritual that they performed in special festival days like Yule. Other Old Norse blot rituals were performed by people in their house holds. Here in this vid we explore performing solitary Heathen Blot in our own living space.

Your altar may be small and simple, but it has taught us much. You've solved many problems we face with this useful information. Many of us are plagued by the past and we must remember spring is a time for renewal. May the Aesir and Vanir bless you with all their gifts. Hail, brother!

I’m a coastal native, your practices are similar to how we pray. Our ceremony, dance & powwows are very different, but individual prayer seems similar

Thank you. This reminded me of the early 1990s, no internet of course, and I was a student in a small apartment. I realize this video is two years old, but in case you see this comment, can you give details about your Hammer pendant? I really like it. Edit: I have subscribed, so now I see that you have done other videos on the subject of Thor's Hammer. I collect the pendants, I am always interested in the various styles, ancient and modern. Perhaps there is more information on the one you are wearing in another video.

Interesting library I can see where your motivation comes from. Any talk on this literature would be well received.

Please do not feel the need to apologize for the chosen representation of your deities. I know this video was posted sometime ago, and you may have changed things up, however, your chosen representation of them is between you and them. Thank you for allowing the viewer a peek into your practice.

Very cool. Very enlightening. I've never prayed to multiple gods at once. Thanks for sharing. By contrast, I prefer my prayers alone.

Where to drop the drink you use after the ritual? You don't have the drink forever in the altar.

Why give the gods an offering or food or drink if they can't actually partake in it? I don't understand this part of pagan ritual.

It’s similar to offerings in Hinduism. Food and drink are offered to the deity, to symbolically partake of the food, which becomes prasadam for everyone to eat after. You’re essentially eating God’s leftovers, which have become holy because the deity joined in the feast.
