Old Nan tells a story (Italian Subs)

Фильм және анимация

Old Nan tells Bran a Story. (Game of Thrones, ep. 3, Lord Snow). "Oh, my sweet summer child. What do you know about fear? Fear is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides for years and children are born and live and die all in darkness. That is the time for fear, my little Lord, when the white walkers move through the woods. Thousands of years ago there came a night that lasted a generation. Kings froze to death in their castles, same as the shepherds in their huts. And women smothered their babies rather than see them starve, and wept and felt the tears freeze on their cheeks. So is this the sort of story that you like?"

That is just so well done; the way the camera starts at a distance because its just an old woman telling a fairy tail. But then it creeps in to close up, with that actor nailing the telling of the story, the boy turns his head and becomes attentive at the mention of the white walkers, and then ultimately is too scared to even answer verbally about if this is the kind of story he likes. Hell yeah he likes it! So do we!

"Thousands of years ago there came a night that lasted a generation. Kings froze to death in their castles same as the shepherds in their huts And women smothered their babies rather than see them starve. And wept, and felt the tears freeze on their cheeks. So is this the sort of story that you like? In that darkness the White Walkers came for the first time. They swept through cities and kingdoms riding their dead horses hunting with their packs of pale spiders big as hounds." EVERY...SINGLE...TIME that I hear this I can actually envision it, see it happen. A darkness that seems unending. An unrelenting ice cold winter with winds that defy the warmth of fire and the heat of the furnace. Starvation driving men to madness and mothers to murder their children. Then once hope for living has been taken by winter's merciless force, the White Walkers come taking away even hope for an undisturbed death. Not a few White Walkers such as were glimpsed in the very beginning but literally dozens if not hundreds of hunting parties of white walkers going after men, women and children with hordes of pale spiders running their victims to ground to be either ripped open and eaten or butchered to join the horde of the undead. Then despair seizes all and the shrill cry of: "The Winds of Winter are upon us! Winter is Here!" is heard to the ends of the earth and...THE DOOR OPENS... DAMMIT ROBB!!! GET OUT!!! :)

There's a fan theory assuming that Bran might be The Night King himself. Funny how he likes to hear such stories about death and despair... he might have a dark nature... who knows!

No in the book, Bran has a dream about a crow telling him something, he tells old nan about it and then she says "crows are all liars".
