I think White walkers should've killed everyone... It would be most realistic, simple ending, and it would fix all mistakes they've done. Long night would be actual long night, there wouldn't be need for selection of a new king, and Cersei would suffer consequences of her final betrayal. I mean they were gawking entire series how Night King and dead army is coming for all the living, first scene ever is about White Walker

Im curious how many of you all believed that the NK, White Walkers, and AOTD were a side plot before final season? Episode 1: Hmmm. Okay here reunites the casts. Episode 2: Naice. One final moment together. It's so cozy. Episode 3: Beginning: The fire is set. The war begins. Chills. Middle:Ummm. What is happening? Wait- why is Jon playing catch with dragon? How is everyone still running from the dead? Wait. Can't all the dead rise again? Wait. What's happening now? Is Bran not gonna do anything? End: Wait. WHAT!? THAT'S IT? Arya "flies"? That's the end of "winter"? So, all it took was flying among the thousand deads that apparently don't see you? Where IS Jon? Is he still playing catch with the dragon? Episode 4: Didn't the "great war" just end. What happens now? Oh the throne. Cool. Hmmmm...we wait we wait. GOO DANYYY! Episode 5: Wait. What now? She's now the evil character? And what is Arya doing? She is just running the entire episode? The mountain dies. Okay maybe that's not so bad. Ok cersie and jamie dies. The end. Tadaaa. That's it? Episode 6: Oh there's more? Dany dies? So, the master plan was to kill every character then? Cool cool. Oh, Bran is the king? Oh. Democracy? Nop nop nop rewatching till a new GoT show comes out, and after that one ended, again, w8 till next spin off or prequel and then rewatching it all till i die.

This show gave me PTSD being emotionally invested bite me back right in the ass.

Season 1-6 of has always been about these long, epic journeys from place to place, which is where a load of character development happens, and twists and turns derail characters along the way. But after six years of that, D and D realized it was running out of time because of this self-imposed deadline, and suddenly everyone is warping all around the map instantly, erasing that entire part of the show that was a key aspect of it before. This results in some plot holes, but also a general sense of disorientation and like everything is moving at breakneck speed. And usually, this is done in service of just hammering us with battle after battle, with maybe one episode of downtime in between them. It’s felt exhausting, and like the show is trying to sprint its way through a marathon, losing steam far before it should. It is easy to see how the last 13 episodes of the series could have been 20-30 episodes if the showrunners had decided to take their time, taking an unlimited budget from HBO, respecting the opinion of the series creator, and doing service to fans who would loyally show up for a decade or more if asked. Instead, they wanted to be done, and rather than leave and hand the show off to someone who actually wanted to be there, they’re just blasting through it, and clearly, it’s suffering as a result.

HBO be like, “Here is a new trailer, and you still know nothing.”

Imagine if "Avatar: The Last Airbender" ended like Game of Thrones Ozai is defeated by Sokka halfway through the final season. Aang never actually uses the other elements for anything and just stands around uselessly. Zuko then declares that he never cared about his honor, abandons team Avatar and goes back to join Azula, then they both get killed by falling bricks. Toph completely forgets about metal bending and never uses it again despite plenty of situations where it would've obviously been useful. All the Airbenders are inexplicably back for the final battle despite all being dead. Katara goes crazy and destroys Ba Sing Se before being killed by Aang. Momo then becomes the new Firelord. Then the show ends with Aang just walking off and going back into the iceberg. What a let-down.

They're fundamentally different stories, Game of Thrones is about corruption and honor, characters that feel like actual people that fail and corrupt themselves. Comparing an adult drama series to a children's animated action series is ridiculous, are you sure you should be watching something like Game of Thrones?
