More about the Native American Sioux people:
The Sioux (pron.: /ˈsuː/) are Native American and First Nations people in North America. The term can refer to any ethnic group within the Great Sioux Nation or any of the nation's many language dialects. The Sioux comprise three major divisions based on Siouan dialect and subculture: Isáŋyathi or Isáŋathi ("Knife," originating from the name of a lake in present-day Minnesota), residing in the extreme east of the Dakotas, Minnesota and northern Iowa, and are often referred to as the Santee or Eastern Dakota; Iháŋktȟuŋwaŋ and Iháŋktȟuŋwaŋna ("Village-at-the-end" and "little village-at-the-end"), residing in the Minnesota River area, they are considered to be the middle Sioux, and are often referred to as the Yankton and the Yanktonai, or, collectively, as the Wičhíyena (endonym) or the Western Dakota (and have been erroneously classified as "Nakota"); Thítȟuŋwaŋ or Teton (uncertain, perhaps "Dwellers on the Prairie"; this name is archaic among the natives, who prefer to call themselves Lakȟóta), the westernmost Sioux, known for their hunting and warrior culture, are often referred to as the Lakota.
Today, the Sioux maintain many separate tribal governments scattered across several reservations, communities, and reserves in the Dakotas, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Montana in the United States; and Manitoba and southern Saskatchewan in Canada.

Guys set it to 1.25x, it helps with the speed and changes the voice a bit perfectly

Probably not. 1) There is a short clip of "Flowers in the Attic" available that is actually voiced by Kemper and there he sounds very different and the audio quality is much worse. 2) All of the full versions are likely not publicly available. 3) The voice here does have an uncanny resemblance to actor Cameron Britton who played Kemper on the tv series Mindhunter. If it is him, then it would be an amusing coincidence because this was produced before the tv series.

I can't listen to him either, I'm out.
This guy's voice has the anesthetic potency of Isoflurane. I set it to 1.25x to make it tolerable. Tried to listen to this book 5 different times. I have adhd, and it really helps to listen to books while I do something with my hands so I don't fall asleep. Desperately need this book for university. Holy shit this reader is boring. Listening to this book has been flat out excruciating. .............I hope it's the only book he ever recorded O.O

Try reading the book yourself out loud and recording it. Until then just use this to go to sleep if it's so boring to you.

Iktomi is an Indian-giver!
The chapter times are wrong
This is the problem with Librivox audio books. I mean no one on earth could listen to this man. I realise all the readers are volunteering to read, and they are not professionals, but come on! This man must be able to hear himself. Sadly much absolutely brilliant work is ignored because of this sort of reading. There must be a baseline, a level past which you will not go. I apologise to this reader, I know I am being rude, but I can't help it your reading is horrible. You have very good enunciation, but it is way too slow and flat. If you are going to do this do it properly.

What's with all the personal attacks? All she did was give her opinion. Please find a healthier outlet for your anger. Bless your heart. For the record, I have read the book and have to agree, this reading sucks the life out of it. It's like the difference between Mary Poppins for a babysitter and a 10th grade history class taught by HAL.

There are two things all of you people of society or forgetting 1 it is good these stories from the culture have been recorded 2 yes the narrator didn't do a very good job in the native culture there was no written language and they had designated storytellers to pass on their cultural morals and yes you storytellers put a little bit more color into their voice for the story 3 weather is it dry voice of the desert where the loud thunderous voice of the sky it is still good to find pieces of a lost culture in other words it's kind of like pizza when it's good it's good when it's bad it's still good

Everyone says this reading could be better and that it was terrible. What defines better? What would be the base standard to be considered "good" or "properly"?
I can’t listen to this guy! Too bad
