I love how Ketch plays the song differently each time. I don’t know how many times I have heard this song but it’s never exactly the same violin riffs. It’s just Ketch fiddling, which shows how truly talented he is. Most of us fiddlers are happy just being able to play a song consistently the same. It’s incredibly difficult to make it sound different and fresh each time.

I've practiced along with the video a *lot* and.... you're right but he is following a general melody line (not just the song tune but his solo) from the studio version. But you're right, the guy's a pro and mixes it iup.

I came to say this is a classic. I knew the first time I heard this song it would be a classic. Too bad there aren't too many songs nowdays or any for that matter that would be considered classics.

The guy on the left playing banjo is a star ❤
What an awesome group of incredibly talented musicians! Ketch had the looks and talent that would have skyrocketed him to fame as a solo artist, the fact they have stayed together as a group tells all you need to know about them!
this is the way i will remember this band!!!!
Now this is how country music should be played. Beautiful lyrics, intricate melody played and sung to celebrate the simple joy of being alive. I can listen to them for hours.

I think Bob Dylan would be happy with what they did with his song. There’s something so special about it. It just makes you feel good. I almost cry when I hear this song.
I never get tired of watching them.
The way THIS song should be played. Sweeet.
Talented band and that lead singer, whooo…cute and plays fiddle while singing
There is music. There is good music. Then there is THIS music.
Anyone else absolutely captivated by the lead guy? Damn.

Well, at least Bob Dylan started writing it.....the chorus anyway, but never finished it. Then Ketch found it, contacted Bob, wrote the verses and shared in the final songwritng credits, great job to both of them!!

Doug Wells This is not a version but an original. Dylan wrote the chorus in '70s and this Old Crow singer/fiddler wrote the song on that.

Love these guys, great harmony, great fiddle and lots of fun
i love people/bands that love the music and not just doing for the paycheck. these fellas just seem to love what they are doing. love em.
Ketch secor is amazing the man can sing and a hell of a fiddler
Yeeeehaaaa!! Fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. What a treat to see'm do it live!
This is such a beautiful song! I got into OCMS a few years back, on the strength of the song “Methamphetamine.” So this one was a tune I didn’t really listen to until recently, and DAMN. Can’t wait for us to get a hold of this pandemic so we can get some live music once more.
The Ken Burns documentary on "History of Country Music in America" has been showing again on PBS. If ya really wanna learn about the origins of Honky Tonk, Bluegrass, and other styles and genres, watch this entertaining and educational documentary. It is in six or more installments.

Hard to believe this song was first created (at least started) 50 years ago. From Bob Dylan to Darius Rucker with Sketch and the Crows keeping it alive in between. Maybe one of the best songs ever written.

God I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this song😍😍😍😍
Country music at it's best.
Absolutely, this is old time country music. However, the original version was by Bob Dylan in 1973 known as Rock Me, Mama. But he never quite finished it. Old Crow Medicine Show picked it up, finished it with Dylan, and recorded and released about 2003 as Wagon Wheel. Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish records and releases it in 2013 and the rest is history. Between 1973 and 2003 the tune had an underground following. Believe me, I know. "Rock me, mama" was one of my favorites...both music and expression.
A great song by a great band that will always remind me of home. Old Crow is better than any of these other whiny, sappy, country stars we're disgraced by now

410 million views of Darius Tucker's version says you're underestimating just a tad versus the Old Crow Medicine Crow version. I like 'em both. :)

The first time I'd even heard of this song was in a FB chat. The posters were complaining about how it's been played to death and they are so sick of hearing it. ..........'Funny', I thought, 'I'd never even heard of it, gotta check it out'. Five or so years later, I'm frequently listening to this tune's various versions (....no favorite one. Rucker's is good as is OCMS) since and I'm just not getting tired of it at all.
