Nice work! I am in particular impressed by the paint job. Allow me to suggest one thing: when you install the bottom bracket cups start with the fixed cup on the right side. The cup on the other side is adjustable. In this case the bearings were compressed too tight. I could see that the crank was not turning freely. Also: the headset is adjustable as well. I hold the cone in place when I tighten down the big nut. I don't want the fork to wiggle but I want it to turn freely.

Rear drum brakes are a gem on a mountain bike. Too bad in America, it is very hard to find a bike with drum brakes. I don't know why people say it is cheap. They are not imo. Drums are amazing, because it keeps water and dirt and all the earthy stuff away from your stopping power and makes it stop on a dime. Road bikes don't need it since it never will be off roading, but a mountain bike should have them at least in the front so it won't complicate the rear gear cassette and derailleur.

Looking at this from a business perspective. He knew he was spending more for a rebuild than a new one. But I'm sure the point of the rebuild was for the benefit of making the video. He made the video, it gets sevveral hundred thousand views, he gets paid by youtube much more than the price of the Bycicle rebuild to include commercials. It's a win...win.

@@Lilay23 how are you so sure about that?
This should be called "old bike FRAME restoration" because technically, you only restored the frame and replaced all of the other parts with brand new. But still, this is worth to watch :) Good job.

😂 all the ants running out of the frame where they made a home.
Very nice restoration. I would recommend you to spray or pour a boiled used motor oil inside the bike frame to protect it and to slow down the process of corrosion since it was in the water. But a very good restoration in general.

Most of those negative comments come from people without the skill or will to mount anything near this. Great work, the price ain't nothing, that feeling of accomplishment at the end its something not everyone can experience.

There was a lot of them. I would say an established ant nest in that bike.
Three chain rings up front and no derailleur. Frame and fork have cantilever/V-brake mounts; installs side-pull caliper and drum brakes instead.

amaizing ¡ hey bro ... can you tell me about your compressor? what do you have for this job?
Awesome rebuilt!

Hi there: Great video, great work, also great improvisation! Inspiring! Where are you? What's your country? Where is Lumala bicycle factory/store? :-) How much time and money for parts, paint and so on did you spend on this bike? Is it a brush on the angle grinder to take off the paint? I'm looking forward for more videos from you.
