Design team member here: To add a few points: the width is 42HP. The filters are actually 12dB per octave. And you are absolutely right on the LFO and the options with external Keyboards.

I hope you make million of these cause they're going to sell like hotcakes. I've preordered one. I would like to know when you (realistically) expect to release this synth.

I'm so stoked for all of Stylophone's new models/ranges and all the things they've begun to explore. Some kind of mixer/recoder would be cool .. maybe no TX-6, but something like a Roland GO mixer or Volca mix even that can record at least a stereo signal (not asking for multitrack here) that you could plug in 3 or 4 Stylophones. I also think something in the vocal category would be pretty cool. There's not enough portable vocal processors

The first company who makes a small analog hardware mixer with 4 completely stereo auxes for modern effects that have stereo in, and out, 12 stereo channels, each with a British style 3 band eq, mutes for each channel, a built-in lithium battery/charging board that's got a 5v USB jack, has my money! For now, I stick to a couple Xenyx 1002B's, and a couple 4 channel passive mixers.

Thanks for the rundown! Didn't realize it had so much going for it. Very curious about future products in the line, hopefully I can snag one on the used market in a few months!

Impressed with the audio demo they posted. A must for that price. Thanks for the review.

I'm looking forward to getting one as I have a full desktop modular this will fit perfectly into it. Finding things that work with my setup because it's not a eurorack can be difficult.

Excited for these. Would be interested to see how the theremin could be connected to various fx guitar pedals and and then to a PA or amp for a live situation. Same with this.

Bowie would be saying "Looks like Stylophone has finally grown up!" Nunomo Qun mk2 does a lot, for a bit less. Speaking of Qun mk2, it would probably pair really well with this, and really expand on what this is capable of, a lot.

Got wifey to pre-order one of these for my birthday. Gonna be a month or so late but I don't think I'll be disappointed. Will link it in through my Neutron to use it as a standard synth as well.

This new Stylophone looks to be quite interesting. Especially for the price, comparable to a Moog Mavis. I'm looking forward to full reviews. I'm also in Wyoming. It's been brutally cold here in Northern Wyoming. At the worst the last few days it was -30 with almost -50 windchill. Luckily that was with hardly any wind at all. Finally today we will get above 0 for our high. A real heat wave!

I’m in Northern Wyoming too! We hit -40s over the weekend and the wind chill made it worse. Probably the coldest I’ve experienced here.

@@Tiger.Arcade Sure. I honestly dont know much about music, as in music theory etc. But it's a fun hobby for me. I hope to make an EDM song one day. I do love synths, especially Moog and all the stuff that goes with them.

Interesting little synth. No envelopes but with crazy LFO options, maybe some of those waves can be like envelopes. Looks like it has waveform blending (modulatable), sub oscillators on both main oscs, and plenty of places to route that crazy LFO. And effects too, I wonder if they sound good. Some built-in effects are great, some are meh or crap. Also interesting that each oscillator is fed into its own filter, so you could have it be “bi-timbral” in a way. Also, some of the Behringer synths, like the Pro-1, Neutron, and Crave use the 3340 VCOs.

Good pricing. The 3340 chips are $14 a piece for average users and it has 2). The filter is $12 a piece.( it has 2). So there is $50 in just the CEM-style chips. And that doesn’t cover all the other parts.

Do you think there is a way to make the Crave oscillator play more than two waves? these on the Stylophone do it.

Could I connect it to my typhon dreadbox or to the elektron syntakt via midi 5 pins? Thank you

There does not appear to be midi. Just CV. I believe there are CV to Midi and vis versa converters.

Anyone know if it works with CV and gate?

Is it possible to hear just one note..? It have the same OSC of the Behringer Neutron..and Crave.

I don't see a trigger input....which would make this unit. I'm on the pre-order list but I might change my mind. I guess they have to have it as a drone synthesiser if there's no external trig.

Your LFOs can act as triggers and envelopes. There’s a “RESET” input. The reset input if patched into will reset LFO to beginning and can act as a trigger I would assume? Looking forward to finding out. 🤷‍♂️

@@Tiger.Arcade good point, and I'm still in so far because it looks like a genuinely useful synth at a very good price.

This is in direct competition with Teenage Engineering's Pocket Operator Modular. It's fiddy bucks less, so lets see how it goes. I'm more impressed that Stylophone can offer a theremin for 110 USD.

I would say it's more semi-modular than modular.

I would say it‘s hardly even that. By definition semi-modular means, that while, there is a preset routing, you can change the routing of the different modules. Apart from bypassing the mixer/fx module, when you take the individual outs of the osc/filter pairs, there isn‘t anything about the routing you can change, both filters are hardwired to their respective filters. And while a lot of things can be modulated by the lfo(s) it doesn‘t seem like you can replace it with say ext envelopes or sth similar.

I sent an email and I'm still waiting to know when the new run will be ready for sale. like many others I think.

smbdy at stslophone stopped smoking stylusses and found some funghi and read all the comments: more instrument for sub 300 please. no single fx unit algos for 600 anymore. its over. nice one stylo. bet it plays niceley with the microfreak. its cv outs have been itching lateley to modulate somthg...
