So many people bashing Behringer for their copycat-products, but honestly, I'm quite happy they do what they do. They make great classics synths available again, and no one has to worry about falling apart synths, leaking parts, costly repairs and no warranty at all. And I'm even more happy they made this Pro-800 replica! It has such a lovely 80's vibe, I must buy it immediately!

Anyone that bashes I just ignore. Like Femto said, it’s most likely folks that spent a fortune for the original. I think what Behringer is doing is absolutely brilliant. I’d never be able to afford an original Mini Moog but now I can get something basically identical for a small fraction of the price and with no worries of expensive maintenance. BEHRINGER RULES!!!!

@@richardfarabaugh7604 Or it's people who see companies we love for what they do: dare to experiment and push the envelope, fail miserably with many products (losing money in the process) and every now and again hit a gold-mine which they can then use in one way or the other to fund the above-described process in the future. Behringer blatantly stealing stuff undermines the payback from these legendary products and tightens the belt, making it more difficult to experiment and make weird stuff that might end up clicking or not clicking. In other words: if Behringer existed decades ago I doubt anyone would have enough room to experiment and fail as they used to, reducing the chances for industry-changing gear like the 808 or the 303 to even be considered for production.

@@milosmilosmilos I’m just happy that owning a quality sounding synth isn’t just limited to the upper class that can afford to spend thousands on one. I soooo wanted to get into synthesizers in the late 80’s and the nineties and even the early 2000’s but I couldn’t afford it. Now I can and I can try out multiple types and not just be limited to the lowest tier junk.

C'mon, you can't be serious, it would be great if they hit the shipping date . . . but they won't. I'll put money on late 2023 / early 2024. But saying that they could get a few early units into the shops in Spring (translation June), which will be snapped up immediately, then it'll be months (like I say, best guess, late 2023 / early 2024) before they are in the shops and available to most people.

The simple fact is, We live in a world where many people have low incomes, high living expenses, and not a lot to get excited about in life. Behringer comes along and offers something the ordinary keyboard player, who could only dream of owning a Prophet 5, Juno 60, Arp 2500 or MiniMoog. Nobody in there right mind, can put down Behringer, when they bring so many, otherwise unattainable, synths, into the homes of music lovers.

I realize that voice-panning is more an Oberheim thing than a Prophet feature (at least until Dave released the VS), but I do wish that Behringer had gone one better than Sequential and given the Pro-800 stereo outputs just for the option of being able to spread out those 8 voices. Just adding stereo FX isn't the same as creating a wide poly-synth field.

Definitely sounds less analog and growling in the filter. They've captured some of it, but oddly enough it's how the Gligli (a modern "implant" processor swap) makes the P600 lose its edge, I would've preferred they kept the brutal character of the p600 entact - which is what makes it such a demon! This is like a mini demon. For those who haven't messed around with the real one, it can be really dark and derezzed. Obviously the folks at behringer like the gligli p600 over the real one, but that's cool.

Should be a big seller. I like the Korg Minilogue run in slave and master mode. 2 of them = 8 voices. Pretty nice option. Where many synths shine or breakdown is in the clarity of the analog outputs. This clarity varies even within the same manufacturer. For Ex., if you listen to the 880, 1080, 2080, 5080, line from Roland some sound great, others sound like there is a blanket over the sound, sounding very dull. This is because of the analog outputs not all being created equal! Always consider this, its the last exit point of all synths. The JV880 sounded great, as did the Roland S760 sampler outputs. As Roland expanded the line up, not all sounded good, I recall being disappointed and surprised.

Sounds awesome! But I do seem to hear some indications that the release shape of the envelopes still have this weird linear shape where the release fades out in an unnatural way, as if it suddenly cuts off. I'd prefer more of an exponential shape, as it sounds more natural. This wasone of the points of criticism towards the GliGli thing, I think. I hope we get some options as far as the envelope shape goes :) Otherwise it does sound marvellous!

Mainly, I hope this leads to Sequential thinking about doing a desktop version of the Take 5, for around 900. But, competition hasn't stopped Fender guitars pricing to the moon. They could call it the Sequential Take Out. Remove the non-essential stuff, plain casing. Take out the less than amazing parts, like the effects. I could even live without the headphone output, expression pedal I/O, possibly the sequencer. And even mono I could live with at a push. But this does sound good, and it's nice to get the 8 voices, the gligli and it be rackmountable. Makes me wonder what was up with the UBXA video hmmm maybe they can't tell us.

Depends which filter you like; Deepmind is the Juno 106 filter, this one is a version of the Prophet filter. They both sound great but they do sound quite different. Also, the Deepmind is, well, deeper, with a great mod matrix and amazing effects. Excellent for making complex evolving patches. I’d go with the Pro 800 if i just wanted an analog poly for basic chord stuff because i love the richness Prophet filter design. But at the price point you could buy both for the same price as many medium-tier synths.
