Don't take this the wrong way, Ned actions are horrible. But as a lawyer he has the right to not be dragged to filth by a company he was a co-founder, so if they did a "dramagedon" he could sue. But still... Ned values are in the wrong place so maybe he just will sue them as a vengeance who knows

@@TheBiggestMoronYouKnow I believe what they meant about that month they didn't disclose anything is because this involved a sexual relationship between a boss/owner and an employee, it became a more complicated legal issue than a let's be honest with our audience issue. It opens the entire company (not just Ned) open to sexual harassment lawsuits. They also have contracts with other companies that could void them if they think their company could be involved in said harassment lawsuits. One wrong move and they could have lost everything.

There are legal ramifications and it could interfere with the investigation. So they addressed it immediately within the company. But couldn't talk about it publicly until everything was settled and actions had been taken.

Anyone who have respect for themselves would have a divorce and wouldn't be a bad example for their children. You cheat, you have consequences. That's what the children should have seen but now they are going to be like their father when they grow up because they are going to see first hand that women always forgives men no matter what they do for their children. We do feel horrible for Alex’s fiancé! We feel like we know Ariel whereas we don’t really know the fiancé. I honestly don’t even know his name. We watched Ariel build her house, have a baby, have a miscarriage, have a second child, help create a podcast. We’ve gotten to see into her world over the years. We have sympathy for both parties but we feel as if we are closer to one party.

Straight up. At this point they are almost like siblings. There was a time they'd spend like 24 hours a day sleeping and eating together. This is a family breakup, and yeah. It is genuinely traumatizing. The things they are describing is my descent when my dad died. It must be very traumatic. Because whether or not I know what they are feeling, I certainly know the signs.

the fact that they are scared of lawsuits in this situation means things with ned must have ended pretty poorly and I'm so sorry for them for having to deal with that, but they are being so strong throughout this. This wouldn't be easy for anyone.

i think the reason why lawsuits are a big factor in this situation is because ned was having a relationship (sexual?) with an employee of his and he was an employer. in corporate world that is a BIG no no because the employee can file for sexual harassment and it can get messy really fast. also they have to protect their employee that was involved. i feel so bad for them, this is a huge head/heart ache for them all.

My theory is that because Ned was a founding member of their company, they had to review his contract/agreement. There may have been some kind of buy out and in that they couldn't discuss certain things? I'm not sure how contract/cooperate law really works, but if he was part owner - they probably couldn't just fire him.

It's so sad to see this happen. But speaking purely through the lens of the well-being of the company, it could have been worse. They could have lost Eugene, Keith or Zack. This is the least detrimental iteration of how this could have happened.

I don’t think any of us have an expectation to know, but we’ve likely all been through a breakup of some sort whether it’s friendship, romantic, work etc. and it would just be interesting to have been there- I wouldn’t want a looking back talk about it, as you say that’s their private moment to come to terms with it, but it doesn’t change that it would be interesting to have seen their reactions because they’re all such different personalities but they were also such close friends

Personally, I really respect Keith, Zach, and Eugene for stepping up, holding Ned responsible, and being so professional in this whole situation.

“Almost like a trauma” As a therapist, I’d say this absolutely WAS a trauma. Someone that you trusted and love did something horrible that not only risked your livelihood, but it severely harmed you and people you love. It also led to you having to take on a huge burden of responsibility to clean up the mess. It absolutely is a trauma and you shouldn’t ever feel like you need to downplay it. It’s okay to feel traumatized by everything.

Yep 😢 it worried me when he said he’s not been exercising. It’s so easy to not take care of our health when other things come up.

I know so many people have said this, but if anything the official response to Ned’s scandal has STRENGTHENED my perception of the Try Guys brand. I am even more proud to be a fan because of the professionalism, candor, and empathy expressed by the Try team.

@@Brunette007 They mention in the episode that what Ned and Alex did was a workplace violation. Ned was Alex's boss, a CEO of the company, and them "dating" is a huuuuge mess for the company. For HR, PR, and workplace morale, it just doesn't make sense to keep them around. Not to mention how everyone around them feels about there being a company scandal, two friends ruining very long relationships, etc.

But who know if their was a lawsuit if they would’ve survived the legal fees /settlement. He literally put everything for everyone on the line. NOT TO MENTION the employees at 2nd try LLC that would lost their jobs as well

It’s surreal because of the context, but I actually find myself coming back to this podcast episode a lot in timed I need comfort. Their willingness to talk candidly about their emotions and be as transparent as they were able to be about the situation is so nice to see. They dealt with this better than I’ve seen anyone in any comparable situation do so and I think that speaks to their compassion. Also, Keith talking about his anxiety going to public crowded places and Zach sort of nodding to affirm him was Very sweet ❤

It’s not ruining a career-it’s holding people responsible-they need to be placed away from the victim and find work elsewhere. They have shown they cannot be trusted to treat their coworkers with dignity and true comraderie-they viewed the victim as a personal resource to use or tease or belittle or power play or enjoy rather than as a colleague, realizing they are both company resources and no boundaries should be broken.

An immediate family member committed a crime that landed them 25 to life last year and it's been incredibly traumatic personally. It may seem weird to say, but a LOT of what y'all had to say has been very relatable. Thank you for being so honest and sharing how you've felt about everything. It's been genuinely therapeutic.

Zach’s little “leave our fucking staff alone” made me so happy. The fact that one of their focuses is the safety and respect granted to their staff in the midst of all of this is amazing to me. Honestly this whole thing that has happened has only made me realize how mature Keith, Zach and Eugene are. How professionally they handled the situation. How much thought they put into their decisions. After watching them be goofy and crazy for years I can really feel the growth of their characters as well So much respect for you guys Hope to see new awesome content from you guys

"I think the stages of grief are a circle" absolutely and I feel like being super known on the internet restarts that grief cycle because everyone's talking about it and people might cross that line and ask and even interrogate you guys about it. I think this was the healthiest and best way to go about it, we're all super proud of you guys and want what's best for you going forward.

This past week has solidified my opinion of Eugene, Zach, and Keith. 3 stand up human beings who, in the face of adversity, held strong to the values they said they have over the past 8 years.

They did handle it beautifully, and I don't think we could count on Ned's remaining brain cells to realize that a court case would destroy any good reputation he might have left...lawsuits are public record! He'd never work again.

Keith talking about trees made me realize..... He should totally release a guided meditation. Even just the tiny snippet was so calm and soothing.

I’m not a pretty naive person. I know that not everything on the internet is what it seems. But damn this really did catch me off guard. Out of all the things that are fake online, watching the Try Guys for years really made it seem as if though Ned had the utmost love and respect not only for Ariel, but for his best friends and their company that they’ve spent years building. It’s horrible and really popped out of nowhere, and I think it just reinforced the fact of how fake the internet could be for me and many fans. Hope Ariel is ok and that’s she’s good with her kids :((

whats so odd for me is ned used to be my "favorite" try guy because he appeared so openly monogomous, soft, and sweet, and now i really really struggle to see any video where hes in it (which is almost all of the old ones). im autistic but for me specifically (not generalizing all autistic people) i dont read social cues well and i tend to be overly trusting, idealize/see the best in people, and continuallymiss red flags (which in retrospect feel so apparent now, but i never saw them in the moment). its just hard because so many videos now are ruined for me, and the try guys were truly a safe space where i could watch lighthearted and safe/trigger-free videos. now i dont have as much of that. i am so happy with the way the channel has transformed though. it feels a lot less artificial/more authentic.

Like they said in the podcast, the internet was going to find the evidence and put the pieces together anyway, and with the way it blew up like it did it would be irresponsible to not address it with transparency. Sweeping it under the rug and quietly getting rid of ned would have sparked more questions and controversy, and likely put a more negative spotlight on the company as a whole

In my life, I've never seen celebrities publicly handle an internal scandal so professionally. And I'm over 60. Your honesty, discretion and transparency are commendable. As a long-time fan I'm looking forward to seeing what new content you come up with.

As someone with 35+ less years of experience as you, it's great to hear your perspective and also so heartily agree with you. I used to watch the try guys when I was a teenager, and their professionalism and integrity in handling this situation has led me back to their content as an adult. I think it just goes to show that these Guys are timeless. Their personalities, growth, and actions are relatable to all of us. Life is just taking what comes at us the best we can at the time.

Don't act like they fired Ned for any reason than to preserve their careers, they only did it after the drama came out, the actual event happened nearly a year ago.

I won’t lie, it took me a year to finally watch/listen to this. I was so broken hearted with the whole situation. I’m even more broken hearted for you guys. I love this little team and I hope you guys are doing well, 11 months after the scandal.

well, it actually kind of is on a business level, if not on a personal level. as they've said a couple of times, it's a break-up. and all that goes with that kind of mess as well.

Fuck yeah to Eugene not doing the podcast because he doesn’t want to! Like, that’s my favorite part of this. I love the guys doing things they love and that are good for them, and if the pod doesn’t serve Eugene then so be it. This brought me so much joy for some reason.

I read a comment the other day that got me thinking about Eugene’s response and not being on the podcast: Eugene was not a kid/baby person, but when he had the opportunity to be around Wess when he was still a baby and be a part of his life, that changed Eugene’s perspective. Additionally, he grew really close to Ariel as well, and you can see that closeness in the videos with them together. There’s another level of betrayal Eugene is feeling, in addition to what everyone else is feeling: This person whom he had been friends with for over a decade, and let him be a part of his family, broke his heart. That’s just my take on it.

Same - made me so happy!! Honestly, I had stopped watching the tripod and came back for the drama... But, one thing that had made me stop was how forced it seemed in some aspects, and I think a big part of that is it not serving Eugene. So I am excited to tune in more.

While I was shocked about everything coming out, I have been turned off by Ned for awhile for aggro behavior and some potentially problematic, most-likely-to-have-masculinity-issues behavior in more casual situations like the Trypod. I will continue to support Keith, Eugene, and Zach and this opportunity for growth, change, and longevity of the channel and brand.

Ned was a recruiter for BuzzFeed and many prominent names from their hayday have said he personally recruited them into what was ultimately a very predatory company - just watch some of the more honest "Why I left" videos, particularly Kristen and Jen's. Frankly, knowing he was one of their more successful recruiters has always contributed to my personal opinion of Ned. I suspect there are several people with their own personal histories with Ned who feel vindicated watching this happen and I don't blame them. Pretty much every one I've seen has expressed some mild shaddenfreude without sensationalizing anything or going into detail and that feels to me like a very human, fair response. Disclaimer: I do not watch drama channels so I might be unaware of some responses.

I got to see Keith in Rosemont, IL with Lewberger just a few days after they found out. Keith - I thought you were phenomenal just as is, but to know that you were also dealing with the turmoil of this issue - only a truly talented and professional can handle this with such grace. Much love to you and Zach, Eugene and the rest of your staff.

I loved that at the end, they were like "we can't use Ned's closing thing anymore. HAVE A GOOD ASS WEEK!"

I loved it. Ned was far from enjoyable to me, and I am so happy he’s been cut loose and now we won’t lose out on the other three. Zach and Eugene have always been my favorites, and it seems Zach especially will blossom without having to completely alter his career now that Ned is out of the Try Guys. I got the sense that if this didn’t happen, then Ned would continue running things into the ground. Sure, they’d have had plenty of views etc because that frat boy Florida man thing is appealing to all of the people that act the same, but they weren’t giving off the same inclusive non toxic vibes that drew me to them.

@@an33y YB has her own channel with food related content amongst other stuff, and to my knowledge she’s still working at 2nd try :) probably best not to speculate more after all the negative attention and gossip that’s been going around but we may get more food baby or similar content in the future (food babies was her ‘baby’ after all)/see her on the channel if she still feels comfortable

It sounds like Zach has really stepped tf up in this whole thing. Not that Eugene and Keith didn’t, but just the way he spoke it was like “wow, you’ve been through it!”

Late to the party watching this video, but I became a fan because of this situation. I was living under a rock and didn't know anything about popular KZreadrs, online shows, podcasts, etc, and was exposed to it all through social media. I was so impressed by how decisively and transparently you handled it all. That level of integrity left me with a really favourable impression of you folks. I'm sorry you had to go through this, and I thank you for being so open about your emotions with it all. "Breaking up" with a dear friend and colleague comes with a deep level of grief and feeling of betrayal that's not often talked about, and it's massive. I hope you've all had an opportunity to heal in the time since this happened. ❤

This is the perfect example of actions having consequences, the domino effect. Ned’s actions not only hurt him, but his family, his friends, and his career. The Tri guys have handled this so well, great job guys.

You could know someone for years, dearly, and trust them fully based on their actions around you; then still be betrayed by them if it turns out they've been making shitty choices you weren't aware of. It's happened to all of us. You either choose to trust human beings based on actions or you live the miserable life of trusting no one and expecting betrayal and deceit, regardless of their closeness to you; the kind of thing an edgelord 12yo or a deeply disturbed adult would argue for. But they did the right thing and there's no reason to lose trust in them over this action. When they pull bullshit like Ned did, then losing faith makes sense.

I can't believe that in their darkest and most vulnerable moment of a video these guys took a moment to validate our feelings as fans. Not only is it heart warming but also healing and thoughtful and I'm so grateful and impressed at how gracefully you guys have handled this situation. I hope you guys take the time to take care of yourself and remember to validate your own emotions through this turmoil.

Has almost been a year since this came out and y'alls probs won't see this but I just wanted to say that I'm here almost a year later watching this as a comfort video because I love how candid Keith, Zach and Miles are in this podcast. Y'alls really did handle this awesomely (from my no experience viewer standpoint heh). I'm happy that you guys have remained a source of comfort videos for me when my mental health is being a bit trash, don't worry it has gotten less trash over the years (tho have to shoutout a couple years back when my mental health was trash and y'alls droning on was getting me through my *hot girl mental health journey* days, I kid you not, I used to listen to y'alls while I weeded the backyard because I needed all the inputs to not panic). The Try Guys are probably one of the most professional, self aware and mature content creation companies I've seen. Its like a breath of fresh air of how well they've handled everything. Its nice to see Keith and Zach vent out their stresses and emotions after the fact while staying composed and well spoken.

I went to Lewberger 9/10 and I have to say, I noticed Keith was upset. I even asked my s/o if he expected him to be more into it and animated. He was a good person to meet, but reserved. Now I realize he was obviously dealing with this and was doing the best he could and I don't like myself for judging his state of mind that night.
