Oiling Wood Cutting Boards Compilation
Ойын-сауық
Watch the transformation take place in this compilation of nearly 30 custom wood cutting boards. Easily my favourite part of the woodworking process.
I built all of these boards in Dec/2021. Since 2019, I've been collecting all the offcuts and leftovers from other boards I've built instead of throwing them in the scrap bin. A lot of these boards were made out of those pieces. They are all end grain construction and the hardwoods I used are: maple, cherry, walnut, sapele, oak & purpleheart. The liquid is food grade mineral oil; the exact stuff I use can be found here:

You know I like your job. Congratulations
These aren’t just cutting boards , they are works of art . I’m sure if you put them up in an exhibition they would be very successful as contemporary wall art . Some would even work as a triptych. X

I was thinking that was an old Bumbu bottle, and then you showed the front face. :>
Great therapy
I’ve made a number of cutting boards. My favorite part is oiling them. It certainly makes the process very rewarding. I must say you truly do inspire me to start stretching my talents and go for something like the ones you make. Keep up the awesome work and inspiring videos.

Good working👌👌👌💕🙏💕💕🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Nice work! I love how they pop after oiling them. I have a question for you since you make so many boards. How do you keep the grain from raising after having been previously grain raised and sanded then soaked in mineral oil? I have made 1 board as a Christmas gift and was told that after the first use and wash the board now feels fuzzy. Keep in mind that they did not "soak" the board to wash it.

I find with end grain, it pays to start raising the grain early on in the sanding process. I start raising the grain after 80 grit and in between each grit all the way up to 400. It takes a bit longer but I truly do find it makes a difference. Also, regular coating with beeswax will help keep the board sealed and feeling silky smooth. Hope that helps!
