Satisfying Wood Glue Scraping Compilation

Ойын-сауық

My Top 10 Glue Scraping Scenes with raw audio; so satisfying. I build a lot of boards and I scrape a lot of glue. It happens 1 hour after the glue up and is one of the most satisfying parts of the build process. In each of the 10 different scenes, I've included a picture of what the finished board looks like. There's some very satisfying footage in here, I promise. I hope you enjoy!
*Correction: I built these boards in Dec/2021, not Dec/2020

With only the slightest hint of using too much glue in the first place, just for the joy of doing this. Perfect!

Since you go through so much glue, have you thought of trying to recycle your waste glue, I was thinking putting it in a bucket and mix with 50% water, mix it up over a couple of hours, keeping top sealed with a lid, then drain off the liquid for the next glue up??

Thanks for sharing this insightful glimpse into your process. Appreciate the inserts showing the final project as well as this intermediate step. Is it possible to reconstitute the dried adhesive scraping for other projects or is it a complete loss. Wishing you and your family a blessed new year. Greetings from NE Ohio. Cheers

@@ryanhawkins perhaps running the dried glue scraps through a blender or spice mill to pulverize the strips back into powder. Back in the 1950’s our wood adhesive was a powder that came in a sealed can. Dad would measure a spoonful of powder with a bit of sawdust and a tiny amount of water to make a paste. Worked both as wood filler and adhesive. Stay safe out there. Peace

I like watching your video - but I have a question...how can you remove the boards from the clamps after just an hour? I was always told the minimum was 2 hours. If I can I leave them to set up over night.

I find the glue is set up enough after an hour that nothing is going to come apart and the excess glue is that perfect scraping consistency. I put clamps right back on after scraping and typically let the glue up sit for 12 hours before stripping them off again.
