Ohio Army National Guard Special Forces candidates talk about assessment and selection process
Two Ohio Army National Guard Soldiers who recently passed Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) and are scheduled to attend the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) are: 1st Lt. Seth Kilian, an engineer officer assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group in Columbus, Ohio; and Sgt. Elliot Timmons, a combat medic with Company C, 237th Support Battalion in Akron, Ohio. In this video, they talk about the assessment and selection process leading to qualification.

It’s easy to sleep on reserves or NGs because they’re not necessarily full timers. But some are. With a big résumé behind them. Some deploy with more experience than active units. Some have no active equivalent

It's always changing. Best to chat with the unit/recruiter. Sometimes you could contract straight through as long as your ASFAB scores were there. Other times SF would want you to go to another unit and come back when you were an E5 or 1st Lt promotable....

You need an asvab of at least 110 and a contract for an 18X.

@joshyman91297 composite score of 110 or greater. Highest asvab is 99, you are correct, but I was referred to the comp score.

It’s 110 GT score Not Asvab Score. You can get a 32 or 31 asvab score and still get a 110 GT Score
