Home free - End of the Road ! Awesome
This song is over 100 years old and gets covered at least once every generation keeping it fresh in the populations memory. It being used in the movie was simply down to it fitting into the time the movie was set as the oldest known recordings of it are from the 1920's even with the song being in written form since the mid 1910's. When you get a song right it will still sound good generations later.
Do note, the band IS acapella, meaning all sounds are made by the human mouth and voice. No Instruments, no computers, no nothing, just their voices. PEACE!!!!!

Tim Foust (Home Free) is one of three a capella singers who can sing amazingly low notes (they don't always sing a capella, but are quite good at it when they do.) The other two are Geoff Castellucci (of VoicePlay) and Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix.) Or try his version of Elvis Presley's Way Down and Ghost Riders in the Sky. Both video play off that Geoff's name keeps getting misspelled or mispronounced with either the name tags or the names you'll find in the posts.
Curiously for an acapella band, they all can play instruments. Tim Foust (bass) and Austin Brown (lead singer on this) both play piano (they're both also song writers and have originals on y/t); Rob Lundquist (beard & glasses) can play saxophone; Adam Chance (bass/baritone) plays guitar and Adam Rupp (beatboxer) plays drums, trumpet and just about anything he chooses. Fall down the rabbit hole!
Oh Yes I Love that movie too . The cover to the Misty Mountains they do is AMAZING!!!!
Country folk from West Virginia here to represent. Sitting on the front porch, playing bluegrass & passing around a bottle of shine is a perfectly acceptable way to spend a summer evening. Best of luck to the city people who have been locked down.

Well slowly becoming home fries! Chance (beard, baritone) is the one doing the guttural sounds. At the end, the camera spans over the various members, one can see him mouthing the sounds. Adam Rupp (co-founder with brother Chris Rupp, former baritone no longer with ground) Not only the beat boxer, he's a tenor and plays various musical instruments. One being the trumpet, which really helps I think to master the harmonica. Yes he's making the sound of a harmonica with ONLY his mouth! Nuances, the 2 tenors Robb & Austin are purposely enunciating differently to sing the lead to differentiate between them. When Tim takes lead, can hear Chance doing the bass parts in the background. When off lead he's the low, low bass in background that's not a guitar bass.
Thanks guys. Never heard them before but Ill be checkin' out Home Free now.

My first time hearing this version as well. I'm impressed.
This is MY first time hearing Home Free, and they're great. But let's not short-change traditional bluegrass. To me, watching a Bluegrass band play takes it to the next level as much as watching an orchestra kicks classic music up a notch.
Austin Brown, who was born and raised in Tifton, Georgia, filmed this in Alabama
When the man with the deep voice sings, he makes every man feel like a boy and every woman feel like they are having one.
The ability to sing this well feels like a real-life superpower.

I love bluegrass! I would suggest Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver doing Blue Train.

@@Texashog11 Steve and his band play at the clubs in Asheville NC pretty regularly. Vocalist is usually Edie Brickell.
Check out their cover of "End of the Road", "About That Bass", and "Elvira".
“Get in boys! I’m gonna r-u-n-n-o-f-t!” Best line in movie.
Earl Thomas Conley holding her and loving you . It's a super voice you will love and is a song for your woman
If you dig bluegrass, try "Will the Circle be Unbroken" It'll make you cry and smile at fond memories.......
