My favorite scene in the whole show.

I like that for the cities tease for those shields is that there is room to use your own transfers or freehand a sigil for a custom city/unit markings

Awesome show. Always a blast listening to HeyWoah. The big-ness for this show was off the charts.

Glad to see you doing well and recovering Vince. The squig box retails to like 315 USD. So assuming 210-220 is about $100 savings. I hope to actually pick up 2 boxes. My wallet is already crying from other things, but it just seems too good to pass. I hate starting an Army without an updated book as who knows what will change. I do think this box will be safe as they will be useable. The book can still make them all trash tier though.

I notice the Frost Sabre warscroll has a picture of the new cat sculpt. The good one. I wonder if this means he will be released as a proper kit, or maybe it's just propaganda.

still do not understand why Thundertusks do not have Hooves attack profile. Like they are not able to attack with their giant ass, smashing ass hooves that btw are the same sculpt as the Stonehorn's as they COME IN THE SAME KIT! F thundertusks one more time. Sadge

Mournfang champion did gain the extra melee attack in addition to pistol so it did kinda get the melee glow up :)

Funny story, I played Ogors (specifically Gutbusters) because I have a bunch of gut issues (Crohn's being the worst of it). Love the idea of "Gastromancy". I was put on 40-50mg of prednisone for about 4 years. After some time, I ended up getting most of my large intestines removed and bagged up. That was when I ended up going Maggotkin and Death Guard for 40K. With all the prednisone, I got that prednisone body going so I'm back to Gut Busters. I'm looking forward to going back to playing with Ogors. They look they play like a pinball machine! Just run straight ahead and get your charge off.

I'm with Tom; you're raising my hopes with speculation of a rapid return to another Skaven book, and in truth we know we live in the worst possible of all worlds!

The Frost Spear is to combo with the new frost lord on Thundertusk monstrous action to make them attack last - reduce their attacks give -1 to hit and have a +5 ward. idk still not a frost lord. but its something.

Hey Vince, for painting an Ogor Mawtribes army, would you recommend airbrushing the skin then handle the rest through other techniques or using the airbrush to Zenithal the army then use Inks/Contrast etc on the minis?

Did I miss discussion of the Buccaneers? I feel like they're underrated. Every time I've run them they've done way more than the 110 points you pay. Even managed to steal a Mawcrusha's Destroyer one time.

Wish GW would really dial back mortal output. Pretty silly that the "special extra cool damage that ignores armor" is often becoming more common than regular damage.

To be fair... Its a natural reaction to save stacking. Witgout mystic shield the meta and design would be totally different, but here we are

ogors alway been fun since the days of hellheart in wh fantasy. this new book looks an improvement on the fun factor on previous edition. seem a bit stronger too.

Book feels fine but damn I wish they had done something to make taking mournfang or thundertusks worthwhile.

I sent a set a set of 6 rock trolls, bounty hunters, all out attack, re roll 1s from the dankhold at a set of nurgle marked chaos warriors and lifted like 4 models I think lol. Those guys are tanky

Things shouldn't be as good as ironblasters lol. They should be good or playable, but not game warpingly good.

All of those artefacts and command traits and I feel like Master of Magic + Arcane tome is probably the best? Playing BCR? Getting mystic shield and Flaming weapon on a FLoSH? Yes please. Playing gutbusters? You've probably got a slaughtermaster or Butcher somewhere who appreciates the extra cast and casting bonus. It helps them cast endless spells with the drought of casting bonuses in the army too. the artefacts might still be better than Kruleboyz ones though.

They are still strong choices, but I’m not sure they’re default, but there is okay there with universals for sure

Big names aren't 1 per army, do we think this will be errata'd? Running a handful of brawlerguts tyrants in meatfist with kragnos would be a silly list. I think Ironblasters can also get the 3+, they're gutbuster units, so if you turn them into monsters with the spell, in meatfist they should get mortals on 3s.

I tried paying attention but I am still over thinking on how Ogres eat Nighthaunt Ghost Popsicles. Oh, and Underguts Leadbelcher and Ironblaster spam are my dark horse meta pick (outside of standard Boulderhead monster mash and the new Meatfist ABC's)

I see yhetees being okay if you decide to take a thunder tusk and manage to get the strike last effect and then just bring in a couple units of yhetees to clean up...maybe?

Sad to see the Yhetees are still just not something you'd play. I like the idea behind their rules but man they need buffs.

Pour one out for the Mirebrute Troggoth and Marshcrawler Sloggoth, which were surgically removed as allies since they don't have the Gloomspite keyword. No longer may we be entertained by our drum troll buddy that grants his 18" bubble of +1 to hit.

Hard disagree on the horses! The high fantasy look is the reason it took me years to get into AoS. Still think stormcast looks dumb same with KO. I would love to se some basic horses for the dawnbringer crusades

I love you Tom, but you look more and more like Cass from Dorkness Rising each show.

I am getting similar vibes from this book as I got from the Skaven book: Both are decent and fun books, but it feels like the writers ran out of time or enthusiasm before fully polishing eveything up to 3rd edition standard. There are just parts of these books that feel rough and warscrolls that feel old and outdated. Random conversion idea to avoid finecast: Rockgut Troggoths with Mancrusher heads as Gorgers.

Am I reading the Frostlord on Thundertusk vs Stonehorn in that you're losing about 35% damage and ward 5 to save 10% of the points? That's really inefficient.

You are gaining the priest and the (admittedly) underwhelming ranged attack. BUt there is some compensation there.

Foxes got done dirty, losing move in the opponents turn only for some fat lad to get it! The book looks great though, I grabbed three SC BCR boxes and now I’m deliberating how to build the big dudes. Probably two Frostlords on Stonehorn and then maybe a Huskard on Thundertusk?

This new book feels like a long-delayed justification for an OMT player getting multiple sets of Feast of Bones

So every week I watch you show (and listen to Rob's show), and every week I hear events should ban book battle tactics. So at my shop RTTs, I banned book battle tactics, and immediately I was told by the whole of the competitive AoS community I was wrong and should not be doing this. What am I missing?

@@VinceVenturella SoCal AoS. I started with a small shop running 16 person events for the people playing there, but we have grown to get people from all of the Southern California area. I assumed they would be on board with the no book tactics things, but apparently not.

I am running my local event as well we are 10-12 people and I also ban the battletome’s battle tactics because I want people the same “starting point” and then they have to think harder and manage their resources (the GHB battle tactics better)

Ironblaster is gonna be fun to watch people hate. I’d personally never run 4 of something that is pretty clearly pushed, but I do know a guy who was doing a LOT of annoying Sentinel BS that might deserve the pain…

They're powerful, but they are "fair". They do all their ranged damage the old-fashioned way, by rolling to hit a wound and checking armor saves. They don't spam a bunch of mortal wounds on 5+, they don't ignore line of sight, they're actually pretty easy to take down with only 9 wounds and 4+ save. For once, the unit that carries the largest firearm in the game is actually scary, and I'm loving it.

what fun, have to agree with vince - horses? good grief there everywhere in real world -- shouldn't be anywhere in aos!
