    Your videos are so helpful! A friend gave me all of her succulent babies. They were in the soil, not attached to leaves as offsets or offshoots. I followed your advice for leaf propagation in part 4/5 (even though they didn't have mother leaves), and l put them on top of soil and left them there for 2 weeks while I went out of town. I live in Costa Rica, and it's the dry season, so I doubt it rained while I was away. The babies were inside, near a window, and they did really well. Some grew an inch taller. My question is-- should I start misting them now? If so, how frequently? 2-3 days?

  • @SucculentFame

    @SucculentFame

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Monique! If they are not showing signs of dehydration, you don’t have to mist them. I know that some countries have higher humidity. If Costa Rica is one of them, I would suggest that you don’t mist them at all and just water them really well when it’s time. Space out watering, but when it’s time to water, the soil has to be really wet. Succulents that are about an inch tall are actually big enough to not need misting, unless temperatures go really high. Is it summer out there? How’s the temperature inside your home? Congratulations on your babies! 😊 Thank you for asking. I really appreciate it. A happy, healthy, prosperous New Year to you! ❤️🙏💫

    Hi! First of all thank you for being such a positive individual. And secondly, i've just started collecting Succulents, falling deeper in love with them.. but still learning. I recently got what i believe is an Echeveria Morning Beauty.. got it in a tiny pot and i noticed some roots forming on the side of the stem with one tiny leave.. not sure if a pup fell off or if its just forming.. the plant looks like it is outgrowing the little pot... will the growth of the possible offset be disturbed if i repot it or would it be best to repot now? Thanks in advanced.

  • @SucculentFame

    @SucculentFame

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hello Ariella, sometimes roots would grow out around the stem area as they try to search for moisture, especially when the soil is too dry. If it were shooting forth a new bud, it is more likely to grow the bud ahead of the roots. If your succulent is outgrowing her pot, I think it is best to repot her. She will give you more buds after repotting with proper care. Thank you for leaving a question! Growing succulents is a very rewarding hobby. Welcome to the club! @@SucculentFame thank you for such a quick reply! I can stop worrying about them! I started with 1 plant which decided to have a baby grow out the side and have it's own roots plus two offshoots between it's leaves that I have snapped off at their bases and potted in the hope they would grow and seeing your video has given me confidence they will survive even though they are just a stem and no roots 😎 Also the main plant has given me some trouble as the leaves point down at quite an angle so trying to pot it has been difficult to get the short stem and roots in the new pot - I had to pull some of the base leaves off to give more space is this the best thing to do?

    You can wait for it to callous over, but you do have the option not to. If you choose not to wait for it to callous over, you just need to postpone watering for 10 days and they will do just fine. Thank you for checking. I really appreciate it. More blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈

    Hi Christine, I have a link in the description to the white square pots. From there, you can reach out to the vendor. There are no guarantees, but it is definitely worth giving it a shot. 😃👌 Great question. Thank you for asking it. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈

    Hello, Luz! I usually would buy online. I also visit my local garden center since they always have succulents in their collection. Thank you for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings! ❤️🙏💫

    hi i live in the Philippines. i have a mini jade plant that's falling leaves.i don't know what happened, it's been a week since i bought them and i have never watered it because the soil it's in is soaking wet. what could probably cause it to fall leaves and can i revive it?

    Hi, try digging it out and let the small amount of soil around the roots air dry.. It’s possible that it got wet in the rain. As far as I remember, June is the start of rainy season out there, right? Once the soil is dry, replant your mini jade again. Don’t water it for about 8 to 10 days. 8 to 10 days if it’s raining a lot out there, thus humidity is probably high) If it’s still not too late, it will recover. The more you water it, while it’s trying to recover, the more likely it will die. Thank you so much for asking your question. I really appreciate it. I hope you’ll be able to save it. 🤞 Blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈

    @@SucculentFame one more thing. please correct me if im wrong. if the succulent leaves rot from the stem to the end it's root rot. but when it rots from the end of the leaf it's under-watered?

    Hi! This is not always the case. I think a more obvious sign of watering too often is translucent, possibly shriveled and soggy leaves. A succulent that’s due for watering would show shriveled and dry-looking leaves. I feel like the term underwatering is not really accurate at all. When they look dry, they are due for watering, thus they just need to be watered really good. Like really wet. When it’s time to water, make sure that the soil is really super soaked. Thank you so much again. ❤️😃
