Thankfully you don't need that for enabling PS3HEN after it's installed!

I was about to give up on getting a Super Slim because I thought it couldn't be modded. That's the only PS3 available in a local store near my area but you sir, have saved me! I will be getting a PS3 Super Slim now, and it's all thanks to you!

Here's a tip for those struggling with on the fly activation with rap files. The file extension must be lowercase. I think this has to do with the fact that the PS3s OS is Unix based (I think) and is case sensitive. I struggled with this, so I'm making a comment in case anyone else is having that problem.

I remember modding my PS3 last year and spent like 4 hours troubleshooting this exact issue. I ended up coming across an off hand forum post mentioning lowercase and I couldn't believe I'd wasted so much time on something so simple

Thanks for this video! Apollo app is a lifesaver. First it let me get rid of copy protection on the Souls games so i can back up my save, and now it also lets me activate my ps3 offline, awesome! I hate drm so i am thankful for these efforts and will send some money to the dev(s).

Can confirm that this works with Evilnat CFW as well. I think the on-the-fly activation feature from PS3hen is now built in to CFW as well

It is! Most CFWs I've seen starting with Rebug LE 4.86 have integrated it.

Same. I'm running 4.88 Evilnat. Can finally say I'm glad to be using it. Think I'll stick with 4.88 until there's an incentive (feature) to upgrade.. I doubt.

Finally. The video I have been waiting for a while because recently when I was at my cousin's house in Vancouver Canada for my summer vacation trip this year and I tried to play some PS2 games on my cousin's PS3 console using PS2 Classics GUI emulator for PS3HEN, I kept getting the copyright invalid error message because his system has not been activated as a primary system for games but he doesn't have a PSN Account, which is required to do so until I found this tutorial on how to activate PS3 system offline using Apollo Save Tool without having to have a PSN Account to do that. So Mario, if you're seeing this comment right now, I would like to say thank you so much for this tutorial you've did and I'm hoping to try this out on my cousin's PS3 console when I'm going to see my cousin again in Vancouver Canada next summer. You are a really awesome KZreadr!

This is awesome. I have a PS3 that I want to use completely offline . I just want to rip my PS3 games to my SSD and not have to worry about the Sony PSN nonsense. I ended up doing all of these things just so I could rip the Final Fantasy 13 disc because I didn’t wanna use Play the first three games.

If I did this and decided to use an account later would I be able to sing in and activate the account and still use the games?

PS3 saves just make the usual folders, copy the saves to the console, and then resign via Apollo. Now you can use them.

Can appolo save tool on PS3 decrypt, encrypt and modify PS4 saves by putting a PS4 save on a USB key and plug it on the PS3 since this homebrew is on PS4 jailbreak?

By title I thought this was a way to re-activate the console after new hard drive install if not on latest FW, but seems the title of video should be Account Activation not Console/Device activation as that is different. Any way to activate a console device offline as well or does this actually do both as its not clear.

It didn't work. Is it because I've previously signed in on a account on it before? Im not signed in and I can't get on the internet because it's on an old firmware. I didn't want to update. This seemed easier but still goes to this content can be used if you renew the license. I'm on 4.87 and hen 3.0.2 with multiman. works and plays iso fine. Any ideas? Oh ok. Hello I thought I was the only one with this problem have you found a solution? If you did please help I am trying to deactivate it so I could later just sign with PSN and finally play my games online I mean it was good to achieve this offline but now its time for multiplayer games I cant find this answer anywhere.

PS1 and PS2 games now load. 🙂 Unfortunately, I had forgotten how blurry PS2 graphics look upscaled. Red Dead Revolver looka great on PS4, but the PS3 port is just a lazy PS2 conversion.

Tried this on my used bought ps3 I installed new ssd . c fw installed pgn game installed rap file manually installed onto exdata folder(game does not show up after install) figured because my ps3 has not account. ) activation asks me to create a new ID but it was a whole bunch letters and numbers to I hit start do I create a new one if so would I need to save that created id. ? Looked around the web seems every activation just says success. Without the create is step. Seems simple create Id. Can I create any id and forget ? Keep the one given and forget.?

Update I have found out the the user is found in the apollo xmb. Copied it 7 zeros and 1 now activated. Good thing I have 4 ps3 on cfw my main my kids and 2 to play around with lol.

Is there any way for this to help with the PS2 Classics PKG copyright notice issue? I didn't activate my console online before installing HEN and such and I don't want to reinstall everything just to activate it if I can help it. EDIT: For anyone who might be trying to use this method to help with installing custom PS2 classic PKGs, it worked for me. Instead of fulling restarting the system, I just closed out of Apollo and immediately opened my custom PS2 Classic game and it booted like normal.

@@bira9956Nope. It's a PS3 I bought specifically to hack and not connect to the internet. It's slightly annoying to have to do this every time I turn it back on to play one of these classics, but hey, it still works.

You still have to activate HEN every time, but you shouldn't need to PSN activate your console each time.
