I do love the new speed of development now. I have been trying to look for other alternatives, but somehow I keep returning to Evernote for its feature and simplicity. I hope that when they are done laying out the foundation, they will incorporate new features that make Evernote great again.

Evernote's superpower is it's search capability. Everything in Evernote is full text indexed and its easy to find everything. I have essentially eliminated paper files from my life by scanning everything into Evernote. Nothing comes close to Evernote to being a virtual file cabinet. Even text in photos and attached documents is indexed making finding things very easy. It's cross platform capability means that you always have access to all of your files and documents from anywhere you have Internet access. Lots of apps can handle note taking but Evernote's super power is the note/file storage and retrieval capability. Now if they would just respond to customers better and stop screwing up the Gmail web clipper, that would be heaven. I like the new features but storage/search/retrieval is still why I love Evernote and cannot live without. I don't know why they don't emphasize this more.

This has been an unexpected but very welcome change to the old workhorse Evernote. I'm in too deep to ever quit it. So it's nice to finally see an update that didn't include more bad than good.

Premium user since 2009. Evernote sent me a survey asking what requirements would keep me using Evernote. I listed a local version (gone), keep the web clipper at least as great as it was (half of them are now blank except for the title), being able to get rid of the distractions like widgets on the homepage (now even worse), never losing my notes (not quite as bad as it was maybe), and a reasonable price ( not even close). I can do all the new features more reliably and quickly on Google Keep and Calendar. I don't want or need AI pilfering through my notes. I certainly don't need an app that deigns to decide what's important for me today. So no, I don't see any use case for the new, improved Evernote at one-quarter of the price they're charging. Not that things were good under Ian, either, but I agreed to give Bending Spoons a chance. They're driving me away faster than ever.

I think Evernote is the balanced note-taking app between Notion (too complicated and without offline mode), google keep/apple note(too simple without task management) and Craft (good note taking app but no task managements). After bending spoon speeds up the development, I’m quite satisfied with the change and the operating speed of the app. It’s still the easiest note-taking app for me. Hope bending spoon can keep going like this. Good thing is that they will tell you what’s the next function they are going to launch which provides me something to expect for. As to the price, I’m in an annual subscription plan when they provide a special discount on the official website quite some time ago. The price is good for me.

I am trying to determine what app is best for my 13 year old daughter for School and Dance. For the former, anything more visual is good. For the latter, at a minimum the app must be able to organize videos from her phone. It would be nice if she could markup videos or combine videos, but I realize that is getting into video editing and maybe not worth the time. I assume she will want something that summarizes scholastic content from the web and videos and something that makes flash cards. Again, any app that is visual and can organize videos would be a great help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Liking the improvements! Will give them a bit longer - love the charts, styling, and much of the functionality. But AI has to catch up to provide serious help with writing, and they really have to change the file structure for deeper nesting. It gets silly. Come on EN! Rooting for you to catch up and dominate again! :)

Honestly, you seem to be quite amazed by the fact that one can create a separate event in Evernote calendar which will not be in your Google Calendar. I personally don't see the point because if I add something in my not taking app's calendar I want to see it reflected on my Google Calendar when I go and have a look at it. Or at least I want to have the option to do so which is not possible at the moment as one can't choose which calendar is adding the event to when creating one in Evernote.

You should make a video on "how hard it is to cancel an Evernote subscription". First, when one clicks on "Billing", it will create an error page asking to contact customer service (without a link). Then, on customer service, it will ask to fill out a FORM with information you can only get from the "Billing" tab. Infinite loop... It has become the most sketchy piece of software I've ever came across.

Before Bending Spoons took over, people were paying for Evernote when there were too many issues such as syncing problems and extended loading times to open the note. Now that Bending Spoons fixed these core issues and improved the user experience people are saying they dont want to pay at all. Thats crazy!

Evernote took a horrible turn. I pay 5 times more for much less than I had 3 years before. It was local, fast, reliable. It is now online, incredibly slow, and lacks basic things like selecting more than 100 notes. I am pissed and disappointed. After 10 years, I feel relieved to be able to take move notes out of Evernote and I am never looking back.
