Honestly they really should either bring back the connection to the previous avatars, or explore the lore of them in a spin-off series. There’s so much history there with endless possibilities to explore to make the avatar universe that much bigger.

I’ve been thinking this for a while now esp after rewatching LOK. There should be a solution to every problem and Korra’s inability to reconnect to her past lives should be overcome with tapping into her spiritual side. I’m hoping that the creators give back her connection with Aang and the past Avavtars.

I agree! I think it would be interesting to have an anthology series that focuses on a different one of the past avatars each episode (or couple of episodes). It would be an interesting way to give perspective to upcoming avatars in the saga.

I agree. Honestly, I think severing the connection with the past avatars is the greatest mistake made by Korra for the great scheme of things in the avatar universe/storyline. Since this connection is the red line through every avatar story it cuts the very heart of the story. I really hope the creators do something with this.

This show came out when I was 14 years old and now I'm 30. I have always been following, watching and waiting for what feels like my entire life for something new. And then Avatar studios came to life. Our dreams have come true.

I'd rather see shows on non avatar benders. For example, a show on the very first Fire Lord and how they were dealing with barbarians in their nation or maybe a show on a highly trained non bending assasin who regularly killed powerful benders. We can take a break from avatars for a while.

Every Avatar unintentionally leaves a task or tasks for their successor to fix. It’s a huge part of their journey as an Avatar. For example, Roku left defeating the Fire Nation to Aang. There are many examples such as this throughout each cycle. Korra having her connection severed to the past Avatars is a task her successor will have to fix or figure out. I knew right away as soon as they did this, they were opening up the possibility of a new Avatar series. I’m actually excited to see how the successor to Korra deals with this.

The next avatar always fix their predecessor's mistake. (Aang stop the 100 years war from Roku, Korra restore airbenders from Aang's absent). I can see it's gonna be the successor's goal

@@faizalardillah1440 Exactly. The restoration of airbenders seem to be almost impossible to us, but somehow there's still a way to do it. I think that the connection to the past avatars can be restored even in Korra's time. Remember that Korra is still in her early 20s. There's so much more she would do. Of course it'll only happen if the creators wanted to lol. And to be noted, not just the exact previous avatar, the current avatar is possible to fix old mistakes from a much older avatars. Aang fix Yangchen's mistake about that General Iron spirit, and Korra fix Wan's mistake for separating the two worlds. And Korra fix Aang's mistake about Yakone too. I know Aang stopped Yakone, but he should've killed him instead of just took his bending away. Yakone was not just a powerful bender, but he's an exceptional influencer. He successfully create a much worse monster than him, Amon. Taking someone's bending away may have worked when he encountered Ozai, but it's definitely not enough for someone like Yakone. Thankfully those powerful bloodbenders were gone. We can understand why Katara banned bloodbending because how destructive it is.

I think that Korea’s next life should go in the tree of time with relics of old avatars and the it would have a scene of the entering the avatar state for the first time with all the past lives in like 80 years

Its kinda crazy to think that if Wan and Korra are 10,000 years apart, if you take the average lifespan of a person (80-100 years old) and in Kyoshi’s case, about 230 years old, there are probably only about 100-150ish Avatars total, even though the show makes it seem like thousands

It's amazing to me how the Avatar world gets richer and more interesting the further back you go..the Kyoshi novels make you appreciate the show even more. And atla was already near perfection, but after reading Yangchen's book the original series feels like only a sliver of this world's potential. I'm so glad we're still getting new Avatar content!

From what I know of Kuruk, he is mentioned a lot in Kyoshi books as Kyoshi's immediate predecessor, he dealt with spirit attacks and kept spirits separate from the physical world

Kyoshi was 42 when she faced chin the concorer. Kyoshi died at 230, Roku died at 70 and Aang was 112 when Avatar day happened. Yajirobi says, in Avatar day, it was 370 years ago that Kyoshi island was formed. 230+70+112=412 412-370=42.

@@meatiest1989 no matter how much you love Avatar you cannot compare it with Naruto. Naruto is the giant. Compare Avatar with other animated series but not Naruto. Avatar is not even an anime. I'd say most anime series are better by far than Avatar.

It is worth mentioning that a part of Avatar Szeto's legacy sparked the Fire Nation's capability and ambition to rule the entire world in the long run, which is through waging the Hundred Year War. Why so? Because Avatar Szeto dedicated his utmost efforts in serving his own nation, neglecting his duty to the rest of the world. The only time he'd most likely been involved with the other nations was through diplomatic means.

could be because besides Airbenders, waterbenders are the second most attuned to the spiritual side of bending so they have a lot of responsibility with both human and spirit world.

Djpego makes a lot of sense. Airbenders and waterbenders are the only ones who are heavily attuned to the spirit world and spirituality of avatar verse. This means it's possible fire benders and earthbenders get to only focus on human issues.

When I was 15 I made an intense research on The Avatar World I literally wrote down all the Avatars from Wan to Korra. Over 210 avatars. My favorite lines were; Fire is fierce, Air is peaceful, Water is benevolent and Earth is strong.

Yeah, the one Zuko has belonged to his mother, from when she was an actress, so it's not the only copy.

46 cycles of 184 Avatars, with the earthbender Avatar after Korra, those 10,000 years would have come to an end but they would pave the way for another 10,000 years worth of new Avatar cycles. Our children and our children's children would love to see how this universe keeps growing.

I feel bad for korra tho because she genuinely needed help and I feel like people are too hard on her because in the scene where she lost the past avatars raava couldn't get up and korra tried but she was suffering the same injuries as raava. So if yall wanna be mad at korra you gotta be mad at raava even tho I think neither of them are to be blamed, korra was still healing and people expected her to be able to fight one of the strongest spirits.

It's sad to hear that the next avatar will be able to talk only with korra. I hope something will be done for this

@@zero3644 That was Unalaq doing, using cheap and tactic nobody knew he can do in the first place. You should be looking at Aang who decided to meditate in middle of a dangerous battle and died in the avatar state, he was only saved by plot with healing water. Ignored Roku advice and how he very vulnerable in the avatar state.

Avatar Aang ⬇ of freedom and enlightenment will forever be my #1! Though I enjoy his bright and childish demeanor, I also admire how he developed into his era's savior of hope. He even kept his optimism sense as he energybended and brought Ozai to justice. Who here is excited for the new Kyoshi, Zuko, and Korra movies?

he used both his knowledge of bloodbending and chi blocking, that's how he can take someones bending away, he blocks the energy flowing through the body and you can't bend anymore.

Whoever wrote the script needs to write a story on avatar Kyoshi ! I absolutely love her character and strength

I always thought Avatar was a light hearted series but it has an really dark lore, and the deeper you go the darker it gets.

It did start with fire bending - Wan was considered a fire bender.

I think that Sokka's and Suki's relationship should be explored *_fully_* like Aang's and Katara's were in the Legend of Korra. In fact, what *_happened_* to Mai and Ty Lee and even Azula? A lot of plot points in Avatar: The Last Airbender were *_dropped_* and *_forgotten_* when Korra became the next avatar, and it probably shouldn't be like that. Either way, both shows are great and amazing.

I watched ATLA and LOK for more than 10 times, and now it is my duty to pass the fire of wonderfulness about this series to my siblings and youngsters. I'm so joyful when they really enjoy watching it.😭❤️✨

I pray that there will be a comic book series or possibly a new show of the new avatar just like the team did with Korra. There’s so much new to discover! Though, I do like how it’s also led up to interpretation from the fans with who the new avatar will be. I’m sad that I never watched the show when I was younger, but I’m so glad that I did two years ago. This show is one of Nickelodeon’s best decisions ever made in history.

I always wondered why Roku fought the volcano at all... Everyone got away and the village was already destroyed, and there were no islands close enough to be harmed directly by the fallout. He could have used waterbending to get everyone a safe distance away instead. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Edit: well actually, Revin Hatol (A person in the replies) Corrected me with something that makes lots of sense. So did the rest of the replies section! He made a valid point where they are both sub forms of energy bending. nexusshark also made a similar point. Thanks yall!

It really is a forever iconic part of our childhood and I could never forget how happy this show made me :") *it's too wholesome I cant!*

Are we just gonna forget the fact that Korra got Ravva destroyed, got her bending taken away, got poisoned almost ending the avatar cycle, and almost losing a fight against a normal metal bender

And also, the channel said Ozai was Sozan successor which was kinda wrong. Sozan had a son which was Azulon and Azulon was Ozai’s dad. So Ozai was Azulon’s successor

I hate how Korra gets unnecessary hate from the community just because she has the opposite attitude of Aang

The story of the first avatar is absolutely amazing, I love this franchise

i would honestly want a Kyoshi series

This story is just so fascinating!

I know about every Avatar, but Avatar Yangchen is one Avatar who is remembered for a festival that's honored by her and Avatar Kyoshi is known for creating Kyoshi island, the Dai Li and the best warriors known as the Kyoshi Warriors. Avatar Roku as far as I know is in fact Zuko's great grandfather and Zuko's time with Avatar Aang is like how Zuko needed to fix the mistakes of his family set by Avatar Roku. I really enjoy Avatar Aang and how his journey to end the 100 year war led him not to only to do great things but Aang also married Katara of the Southern Water💦Tribe and had three children with her (Bumi, Kya and Tenzin) and there's no greater Avatar than Avatar Korra who mastered fire🔥, earth🌏, water💧and air🌪. I really absolutely💗the relationship between Korra and Asami because of how close they've become and that Korra is proud to be with Asami because she is in fact a bisexual along with Avatar Kyoshi.

Losing the connection with the past avatars relates to the real world. We have lost thousands of years of history, majority of it unknown and lost a lot of knowledge which is now hidden.

@@lifeline.6144 no, it's not bridging the new avatar it's just showing more on the life of korra and her adventures and how things went. Bryke clearly said they won't be making new avatars but telling stories on past avatars

Best thing they can do with the new avatar is for him to find a way of being attached to the old avatars again.

I think that maybe using the Time Tree Korra can have vision of her past lives. It's less but it is something

The first music sequence during Wan's section was epic! I need an hour long version of that flute music 🙌

All the Avatars are awesome and they accomplished many great things, but Aang is one of a kind 🥰

Kyoshi was probably the most ruthless avatar ever imagine if she had switched places with Aang the fire nation would’ve never expanded as much as they did

Idk.... It would be like Korra all over again. An arrogant impulsive and tons of drama.

After reading the book, I seriously want a Kyoshi series.

They should do a avatar chronicles type series that shows the stories of each avatar.

My theory is that the avatar cycle beginning with Wan in fire and then being succeeded by Air would have probably been the best version of the first and second avatars. Air Nomads are so spiritual they were probably able to deduce there was something spiritual going on with their newly discovered master of four elements and would have encouraged and facilitated a space where the second reincarnation could learn as much as possible about the cycle to provide wisdom to the first earth water and earth avatars.

Kuruk, the Avatar who not only got his soul cursed but the soul of the Avatar

Got my Yangchen book yesterday I’m sooo excited my fav🥰

I don't think Korra's connection to passed avatars is gone, they just don't want to talk to her at the time cause of the poison in her body. Once that was gone, and she was able to talk to the light spirit, the connection was there again, and at the same time, her past lives knew that she had to figure this out on her own without help from them, but she needed help from her friends the most. Any thoughts?

Recently avatar videos have popped up on my KZread and I've loved watching this amazing series again
