Exactly my thought.

The fact that Gyatso made Aang a master by the age of 12 while constantly making him have fun should prove that he deserves a way higher spot!

Zuko was life changing. I dont think anyone would argue he is less than that.

You know the tier list is bad when Iroh, the man who not only taught firebending to Firelord Zuko, helped Kora as a spirit, and even taught many valuable life lessons to us, the viewers, when the dragon of the west himself isn't in the top tier. Disgraceful.

Roku and pathik in BENDER BASICS already gave it away Even for Lo and Li, they gave life changing advice for the entire azula gang, which really came true.

Master Piandow, however you spell it, also taught Zuko swordsmanship

​@@JXekil_I Nope, Jeong Jeong taught Aang what are the real intentions of the 4 elements. “Water is cool and soothing, earth is steady and stable, but fire is alive” He basically taught the Avatar the real importance of those elements and he certainly made sure that Aang would find the importance of learning Water and Earth before Fire. I still agree that he's bender basic though

I do think the air bison and moon/ocean should have been listed under Original Benders for Air and Water respectively. I mean, the siege of the North Pole showed Tui and La (Moon and Ocean Spirit) as the koi swimming in endless circles forming Yin and Yang. And we see the the ATLA group constantly with an original air bender (Appa)

For bisons i said it too. Ang said it himself that they are the original masters. Plus if we think carefully the technic the zahir used in legend of korra, flying, it's the same technic that bisons use to fly. And for ocean and moon spirits it may be the original masters bc like earth air fire had their original masters, they may be the same for waterbanding. Plus in north waterbander tribe, in fire nation attack, ang manage to make them leave with help of ocean spirit by uding waterbanding, both of them. So...

Katara and Tenzin are my favorites on the list! I would certainly love them to be my mentors ❤️ And hey, a little honorable mention to Korra, who was Opal's first teacher, who she debuted with as it was her first time teaching someone. And she did very well.

I seriously want my dream top mentors to be toph, katara, iroh, bagermole and monk gyasto.

I’m going to give you one little thing, I think Iroh should be higher on the list under “Original Benders” because he invented a new technique called lightning redirection.

Guru Pathik is life-changing for me if not for the Avatar. His teachings to Aang regarding chakras inspired me to delve deeper into spiritual philosophies. I was only 6 when it aired.

Toph was an original bender though

What about tui and La, the flying bisons, and king Bumi???

Love the channel and it's amazing that it keeps on delivering some Avatar goodness to us all! I get how you tried to do this list, but I must say I disagree with a lot of the choices there. Still a very enjoyable video tho. Also, I know the title references the name of the channel, but it is a bit misleading, it makes it look like it wouldn't feature LoK characters.

Great list!! However I think the moon and ocean spirits for waterbending and the flying bisons for airbending should have been included under original benders as well.

They all learned from great teachers and mentors, thanks to them they perfected their powers and abilities.

Avatar Roku, Guru pathik, Suki, master piandao, Monk gyatso, Iroh, Katara,Toph, Badgermoles, Ran and Sha, and the lion turtle are, in my opinion, the best ones on this list! But the Lion turtle definitely deserves that top spot!😆🦁🐢

I feel like some of these where more so directed by how popular they are, I would at least argue that guru patik should be much higher on the list, because he got aang on his way to being balanced and that lion turtle finished it. And Zuko should also be higher, like who else was going to teach him firebending, but also the humility of redemption

piandao and iroh are both top tier mentors

Interesting ranking. I was with you up until Avatar Aang. Even be what you quoted in the video would put him on the "Life Changing" ranking. How he restored the Avatar state to Korra and his line even helped me in my personal life when he said "At one's lowest point is when they are open to the greatest change." Stongly suggest to re-do or make a correction and move him up a rank.

Lo and li are at least bender basics- since they know lightning bending and they notice even the slightest little differences

@@cyberdevil657 Spoiler! To make it short. Zukos Mother left Ozai, went to the spirit world, changed her face and deleted her memories, started a new life with another dude and got her own family. They found her, didnt know it was her at the beginning and found it out in the end. Its not really that great of a story to be honest.

Iroh and Tenzin are by far the best characters of the shows. The way I look at it, everyone has to undergo a phase of Tenzin, before being able to become an Iroh. While Atla was superior, Korra really did capture the struggle of getting on terms with oneself with Tenzin.
