They put new wheels on it this year so it seems smoother at least for a Vekoma

Dude the drop going forward feels relaxing this year. And shockingly there were a lot of people waiting. But where I was (front seat) there was no line

i remember getting to ride this 7 times in a row once while waiting for the laser lightshow, there was nobody in line so the operator just kept restarting the ride

I was a Ride Operator at Boomerang in 2001. We loved to let guests stay on when the lines were empty, often at the end of the day before the laser show. It was not only a blast for us, but guests loved it so much, we'd gets hugs and high-fives when it was over. Best job I ever had!

this was my first coaster here, AND 2ND RIDE. but amazing. just keep your head back!

I remember seeing this ride stuck one summer, the people in the cars were nearly upside down and the fire department was giving them water because it was 100 degrees out and they were sitting in the sun for hours while they worked to free them

It’s called the Flashback at the Six Flags over Texas in Arlington.

Is this a smooth Boomerang coaster like Zoomerang at Lake Compounce, or could it use the new restraints like they have on Sidewinder at Hersheypark or the Flying Cobras at Carowinds?

It's a smoother one. It is kind of bumpy, but the restraints are more comfortable so there's basically no headbanging. Definitely better than the oldest ones

I rode this layout for the first time at Geauga Lake.

One of the best parts is going the beginning where you go up slowly

most under rated sfdl roller coaster Edit: I take that back its actually the viper.

don't u EVER say that again. the viper is not under rated. it has a trash rating because it is trash. that ride is so painful i was about to unbuckle my seatbelt willingly. i was asking God to unalive me. I wanted to pour sand and salt into my eyeballs. So u best take that back if u know whats good 4 u. bye bestieee lolololol

@@Halloween4life what’s funny is Boomerang is without a doubt the least intense coaster at DL. Predator and Viper will beat you up, Superman has that speed, mind eraser is ummm; well mind eraser lol.

@@Halloween4life And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Darien Lake is really a blast from the past when it comes to their coasters. Only the 2 newer ones were designed by computer; so you can really feel the imperfections in the tracks, but that makes them memorable.

I went on this yesterday! I hated it 💀 my friend made me go on it. Its so fast when it goes down, ands its so scary backwards. And when it drops from going up the first time its so steep 😭

It’s sooo much scarier when it goes forward in my opinion. I highly doubt you hate it, you probably were just too scared, if you ride coasters multiple times than it becomes fun once the fear is gone

I literally kissed the ground after my first ride on it. It was my first coaster ever, and I was 39. The first drop was terrifying. Then I did Ride Of Steel and loved it. My second ride on Boomerang was a blast. I was addicted to coasters at that point, and a week later I was a Ride Operator, working the area with Boomerang and Viper. Keep riding. It gets infinitely better!

I felt nauseous on this ride. But it was fun.

In 2002 after SF took over Geauga Lake they were allowing my sight impaired sister with a white cane to ride twice in a row without getting off. So riding this clone twice in a row in my early 40's was too much and made me sick for a while even with my motion sickness pill.

Neither of Darien Lake's Vekoma coasters (Boomerang or Mind Eraser) are anything special, but Boomerang is a truly pointless, useless coaster and I really wish they'd replace it with something good.

@@gjp373 it was constantly broken down when I was a ride operator at Darien Lake. Even when it did operate (which was rare), all it does is go forward and backward, a novelty that soon wears off especially when you discover that nearly every regional amusement park has that coaster. It's cheap, it doesn't really deliver, and there's nothing unique or special about it.
