JJ didnt throw as much because Jim Harbaugh believes you win by taking the other teams will which is done by running Duo 25x a game. Eventually the other team quits, see Ohio State. Now in that type offense you need a QB that is elite on 3rd down and because Michigan run game in 23 avg 70 yards less than it did in 22 JJ was in 3rd n long a lot more. JJ ran a 6.82 3-cone so hes an elite athlete at the QB position plus he was extremely accurate therefore you have an elite QB on 3rd down.

Nice. Hard to find valuable input on these boards. The logic also crossed my mind while watching this: if he's been efficient when Michigan was forced to pass (since they highly prefer to run), which means there's a heightened amount of pressure, then he might be 1. made of the playoffs and 2. perhaps even more prepared for the trials of the league than most, as counterintuitive as that sounds since he didn't have to carry a team. That being said I'm not going to talk myself into this. It certainly seems like the intangibles check out but I'll have to do a lot more due diligence on his physical traits since there isn't the same amount of game tape to break down. By the way, no way would the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh take JJ over Caleb if they didn't have Herbert.

Because of the time it takes to see if players deliver there really is no time of reflecting on bad opinions and wrong evaluations. I’d like to stats kept on people “qualified” to talk about these players.

I just have the feeling that J.J. has been underrated and he might be a player who’s better in the NFL than college. It’s only a “gut” feeling. I do think though that evaluating a quarterback in the draft is a sticky wicket. There are so many variables and just one bad variable can seemingly derail a career. For example, look at Ryan Leaf. He looked like a can’t-miss guy at WSU. He was a better passer in college than Payton - Leaf had a killer arm - although Payton really just kept improving after he was drafted. But Leaf had real issues that were supposedly well guarded by his college coaching staff. I think though that nowadays it’s harder to hide flaws. When Leaf was playing the Internet really was pretty new. Now everything seems to be public and immediate.

Are you the same guy who says you have a gut feeling about Caleb being a bust? Those guys are classic. Having a gut feeling on JJ because he doesn't have a lot of game tape and is widely recognized as one of the harder prospects to project in this class is understandable, but certainly not with Caleb. He is who he is on tape.

I’m pretty sure J.J. is gone by 10. Why? Well, the Vikings supposedly want him and they’re almost surely trading up to try to draft him. It will be very interesting seeing this draft class in the NFL because you know a couple guys will almost surely be “busts.” It’s hard to predict who they are though.

Unless JJ was the best player on Michigan we shouldn’t be hearing this much talk about him. I don’t know who any other players are on their deep team. 🤷🏾‍♂️ That’s the overhype. 4th pick from someone who doesn’t care and isn’t held accountable for being wrong, but they raise and lower peoples draft stocks and attention.

But I mean fellas, they literally just did an exercise where they could NOT pick defensive players, AND couldn't trade. And they, as actual pro analysts (not just some media guys), put on their GM hats and chose prospects that best fit those franchises. And then...JJ still fell to them at 11. Do I believe it happens? No, but "0" chance is wrong.
