Off-roading to Morelia Michoacán (Ep 27)
The Motorcycle adventure continues! Riding from inner Michoacán to its capital Morelia was quite the full day. I started off in the morning by enjoying some mangos and Avocados. Then I hopped on the bike and made my way to Uruapan. I met some guys who were doing a route on UTVs and chatted for a bit. After leaving Uruapan a bit further north close to a community called Cherán I came across an interesting sign. It said that it was prohibited to plant avocados. After doing some more research I found out that in order to not attract organized crime in the avocado industry the community just simply made it illegal to plant avocados.
Its so interesting to me that it actually came down to that level. That law enforcement or any other kind of measure wouldn't have been successful. To just ban them completely to keep your community safe. After continuing on I came across a section of roads that up to this point have had the most silt on this entire journey so far. It was deep and quite tricky to navigate through. This is where I once again was glad I had I higher clearance lighter bike.
Later on in the evening I finally rolled into Morelia checked into my room and immediately went on to go explore. Morelia was breathtaking! I absolutely would love to come back and continue exploring it! The amount of stone work was extremely impressive and even the McDonald's was in a stone building. I stayed there for a few days did some laundry and just relaxed! Thank you for watching the video guys & hope you guys enjoyed as always... Cheers!

Mexico's Department of Tourism should be paying you for the type of exposure you are giving their country. Keep it up.

My brother... this one felt good. Not sure why... maybe the geoup of folks who were so friendly to you on the trail... maybe I just got home from a 17 hour shift, jumped in the pool with a glass of whiskey and saw you had a fresh video to relax to. Whatever it was, this one felt like a sigh of relief. It's already been said, but we are living vicariously through you and your epic adventure. Seeing you safe and in, what seems like, a safer part of Mexico, is a huge relief. Keep them coming and don't hurry... this trip will saturate you forever, so make sure you soak up every damned drop. Stay right!

I love that you are showing all the magical landscapes and people and especially love the wildlife, horses, cattle and such. Be very careful on your travels and please keep showing all of us everything, the good and the bad.

@@LandonBishoff heard about the channel while searching for enduro adventures. Long story short I have been riding Harleys for 25 plus years and picked up a new DR650 earlier this year for some dual sport fun. Im a bit rusty on my dirt skills but its fun to get back to where the love of 2 wheels started when I was a kid lol. Ride safe!!

Thats awesome Joe! Yeah a Harley would be super fun to try out. Ive never been on one, but they look very comfortable and alot smoother. Yeah DR650 is a good bike to get back on the dirt again. And you too my friend be safe out there!
By far my favorite series on KZread right now! Every time I see a new episode I get the itch to go ride! Incredible content.

Super beautiful riding up in the high country... those deep silt roads look knarlly, be glad your on a lighter bike bro. Morelia is very colonial pretty, but Michocan is picturesque Find a local lavandaria, the ladies will wash and sort you out for cheap

Hey I saw your route plans. Regarding the coastline south of Banderas Bay - If you continue north along the coast you can get all the way to Los Coralles. Dirt road and beautiful scenery and beaches. Plenty of places to camp and nice people. Then you could backtrack in about an hour, and cut inland thru El Tigre to Talpa de Allende, and from there west along your intended route to Vallarta. And FYI the coastline SW of Vallarta is absolutely stunning.

My brotha Marc! I appreciate this a ton! Good news and bad news haha. Bad news is I already passed all of this to be able to really take advantage of your wisdom here. Good news Is after I discovered my bike had issues in Puerto Vallarta I did go and visit Tampa de Allende & all those little towns on the way to Guadalajara. I ended up changing my route since while the bike was getting fixed I went sailing and got to see some other spots. I actually just kinda showed a little bit of my route adjustment in the video I posted today. One day I would absolutely love to explore more of South of Puerto Vallarta like you say! That whole area was just beautiful in my opinion! Thanks for taking the time to write this out and for looking out for me! I think this is my first time seeing you on here… How’d you find the channel?
Look forward to seeing new videos every week. Wish they could be a little longer. Hopefully one day I can do the same rides you are doing.

Hahha yes that is wrong Scott/Steph whoever is writing this! But id say its natural, we always want what we dont have in the moment. Ive caught myself doing the same thing on this trip. Pretty easy to just ground yourself a little and just remember what a blessing it is to be in the spot we are in. For me I look at the older generation perhaps here in Mexico maybe still working everyday for little pay and then I look at my bike and what Im doing, and it just slaps me right into gratitude for where im at. But id say its normal to feel that way. Its an interesting subject to talk about honestly how that all happens
