This week we take out my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Xtreme Recon out to Rowher Flats in Santa Clarita, CA. But before we went off roading for the first time in the 392 XR, we put on some 37” Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires and spidertrax spacers to avoid any rubbing.
I've been waiting to hit the trails ever since I got my 392 XR a few months ago. And the timing couldnt have been better. My buddy Louie at Barkley Tires in Burbank hooked us up with an amazing set of 37 inch STT Pros for the Rubicon and they work so well. I chose the STT Pro tires from Cooper because of the great first hand, long term reviews of this tire by some very reputable off roaders, but also the weight of the tire. On this Jeep 392 build, I am looking to shave some weight for every upgrade that adds weight. I know, it's not the easiest thing to achieve on a Jeep but that's why the tire weight was so important. Mud terrain tires are not light weight by any means but even a few pounds of weight makes a big difference on a wheel or tire because that is now unsprung weight/rotational mass. They are also fairly quite tires. I think the road noise is just as much as the OEM 35 inch all weathers that shipped on the Xtreme Recon.
So all in all, very happy with the 392 and glad I went with Cooper Discoverer STT Pros, highly recommend both!

    When I had my YJ, JEEP stood for Jeeps Eat Every Paycheck. Seems like this 392 really doesn't need anything else. I would add an air tank and compressor, good to go.

    I'm a Eastern Sierra and Death Valley monthly traveler and it's super rare that I have seen a Toyota 4x4 driving hwy 395 caked in dirt. The most hardcore off roaders I've have seen wheeling in Death Valley have been Jeeps. I like seeing that!

    Haha that's such a good observation! I feel like the Toyota guys in general are a lot more cautious with how hard they go but some of these Jeep guys blow my mind with the stuff they pull off 🤠

    Looks fantastic. Glad to hear the 37’s are fitting on stock suspension. What size are the spacers you used?

  • @StudioMotors

    @StudioMotors

    Yea they fit fine with no issues. The only thing I would advise is to make sure you use a very experienced wheel shop when you are running spacers on a jeep. Balancing them perfectly is key. I'm running spidertrax 1 3/4". I've only used spidertrax spacers in the past and have never had an issue with them. Enjoy the Jeep and thank you so much for watching 🤠

  • @BionMTG
    @BionMTG7 ай бұрын

    just curious how big of a spacer you installed to give the clearance for the 37s? I felt like it was really close, and I wanted to keep the jeep as close to factory as possible, and seemed like 37s was a very strong possibility. I wanted to keep the factory beadlock rims, just wanted the larger tire. Thanks a ton!

    Nice! Did you add wheel spacer or lift spacer? No rubbing with 37?

  • @StudioMotors

    Thank you! Yes, I'm running spacers and I only use spidertrax because I have never had an issue with them. They are a great brand/company but spacers MUST be installed correctly. A lot of people don't install spacers correctly and then complain that they suck. This is the exact size we're using and it fills in the body very very well. amzn.to/3x4futd

    What about Bronco Raptor Vs Jeep 392?

  • @StudioMotors

    @StudioMotors

    Жыл бұрын

    Can't wait to drive a Bronco Raptor, I'm sure it's awesome but it is more of a modern approach ie V6 twin turbo. There's something special about a NA 6.4L V8 with massive grunt. And although the 392 puts out more power, it's not always about the numbers, but instead how it feels. Add on top of the these massive V8s going extinct soon, makes it all the more worth it to get one. Appreciate you watching! I'll have a Braptor review asap!
