Jeep went and did it! They put a 6.4L Hemi V8 in the Wrangler, giving us the Wrangler 392. We also now have the available Xtreme Recon Package which brings 35" tires, suspensions lift and overall improvements to the off-road capabilities of the Rubicon along with making it look even more aggressive. That 392 makes 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, 4x4 only, 8 speed auto and an active exhaust that makes the best noise ever. The sound of this thing is addicting, pretty much enough of a reason for anyone to want it. Oh, and its pretty fast too! I spent a week with the Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 w/ Xtreme Recon Package, here's What I loved and hated about it!

    Keep in mind, this is the most visceral naturally aspirated V8 experience you'll get in the industry: The chargers, challengers, Durangos, grand Cherokees and rams are very well insulated and refined. They give you the V8 experience, sound, and vibration, but at a much lower level. This 392 is balls to the wall V8 in your face with the least amount of NVH in the Wrangler platform. That sound track just can't be beat... What a car! Especially in today's age of shoving turbo 4s and EVs down our throats!

    I have a 22 392 xr and 21 trd pro 4runner love both. These are offroaders and not luxury cars. The happiness the hemi brings is well worth it. If I want comfy I hop into the 4runner.

    I just bought one today and drove it home. I've yet to check out the Offroad plus mode yet lol. There is more... This jeep is freaking awesome!! Edit: One of the best reviews to date. This jeep is truly absurd. I test drove a 4xe the same day as my 392 and it simply does not compare. The 4xe is arguably a smarter buy but for rarity, hilarity, and funs sake... the 392 is the G-d Wrangler and the absolute best you can buy.

    @@qosmio2140 Love it. Offroad plus is crazy. It's pretty insane how a single button (stock) can change the characteristics of a single vehicle so much. Don't be fooled by those weak Braptor reviews which clearly state by the numbers the 392 is superior but for price the Braptor is better. We aren't idiots. If you can afford it buy the better vehicle - The 392.

    Great Video! Input on the 392 was great! I have a Turbo Diesel V6 Jeep 2021 and it’s fast already cant wait to upgrade to this beast.

    I bought mine 3 weeks ago!! Xtreme recon package + power roof in sting grey $97k + tax, lic , doc fee. I love it!!! Bought my c8 corvette (HTC) same day and haven’t even drove the c8 yet lol 😂 the wrangler rubicon 392 is that good and fun.

    The steering shouldn’t be that loose at all. Maybe from 11 to 1 o’clock but not 10 to 2 o’clock like you just demonstrated. Something between the pitman arm and the steering wheel ain’t right I bet. A lot of Gladiator owners experience that steering wheel play too. Mine however is really tight, and steering is direct.

    The 6.4 Hemi + ZF8 has to be the most exciting big car drivetrain available anywhere. Small turbo engines, even V8‘s just ain‘t it. Imagine that engine in a 5 series.

    Buy one while you can. My hunch is that the 392 will be a 3-year model run before it goes the way of the Do Do bird.

    If you wheel, and I mean actually wheel, there is no comparison. At least not from the factory. Match that with the sound and fury of the 392 and it’s an enthusiasts dream.

    The stock 392 can easily fit 35" tires, the Xtreme package comes with 35" tires, and the 392 can be programed to make it 2WD.

    @@darrenroos6408 The 315/70r17 BFG K02 is a 34 inch tall tire when free standing and mounted. A 5.7L V8 and 400 HP is all that's needed, more economical, less likely to break the drivetrain. I wouldn't want to void the warranty by reprogramming to get 2WD.

    ​@@gen1c8rs88 Tire size is based on the height of the tire before mounted to the rim. It's a 35" tire. BFG doesn't make a 34" tire. Go measure a BFG 35x12.50R17 installed and inflated and you will see that it measures between 33" and 34". 5.7L is old technology. In fact, before the end of the year the 392 will be just a memory for the Jeeps. A 500 HP inline 6 is the future. The Tazer JL programmer can be unmarried with the click of a button before a dealer visit. Besides, don't break it and you won’t have to worry about the warranty anyway.

    @@darrenroos6408 Tire diameter is measured mounted on the rated wheel width, at the maxium rated tire pressure, after 3 days, with out a vehicle's wieght on the tire, that's the industry standard. A 315/70r17 KO2 is listed at 34.4 inches(has to be rated at 34.5+ inches for the tire to be considered a 35 inch tire) but they are known to have a reduced diameter and width compared to several other brands. Anybody that is saying a 315/70r17 KO2 is 33 inches must be measuring tire diameter with a lot of weight on the tire well below the maximum tire pressure.

    @@gen1c8rs88 Ok, so Jeep provides a BFG 315/70R17 with a spec of 34.41" but you "wish" they had a 35x12.5R17 which has a spec of 34.53" You are seriously going to complain over less than 1/8" of diameter difference, less than 1/16" of ride height difference? Smh 😂

    @@khalid749 For the Jeep 392 (and Bronco Raptor as well) there are no "good areas" because they are both just gas-guzzling/over-powered "vanity vehicles" and so of no practical/everyday use for anything on/off-road except for showing off (to impress the owner or others). ;-) And yes, I can afford one (so my view is not a case of "Sour Grapes") but didn't want to -- got a Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) instead. :-) -- BR

    What *I* like about the 392 -- nothing. An overpowered, gas-guzzling vanity vehicle. That's it. However, I DO like my V6 Pentastar Gladiator. :-) -- BR

    I love my pentastar jk 3.6 I get 16.8 miles per gallon with 33 in a 2,door rubicon with a winch on the front so your gas V8 so over rated
