Thank you & God bless you, Fr Dave! When my son, who didn’t have a good father model, told me when he was about 14 yrs old that he thinks he’s attracted more to men than women, I told him simply that he’s still growing up, his body still in progress with yet ever-changing hormones, to wait & pray to God, Who does not make mistakes. I prayed, trusted in God’s will, encouraged him to date girls & also had male friends. He went to Medical School, married & now has 2 children, praise God 😊🙏🏽❣️ Happiness is just a state of mind, which can be manipulated by what one sees, reads, hears; fed by peers & the media. True happiness can only come from knowing God’s love ❣️

I really appreciate that you spoke on the controversial topic that's happening in this world now. I watch a lot of KZreadrs who think conservatively and are Christians, but it means so much more coming from you! I hope you get a chance to make other videos on these topics in the future. We are hated right now and persecuted. Your guidance affects our thoughts and strengthens our faith. THANK YOU!

Father Dave, I will never forget when I had a visit from another state for a week. One night after supper, I see the dad on the sofa, on his phone internet. Mom is sitting beside him, on her phone internet. 2 kids, on the sofa, each on their tablets. All lined up on my sectional, each in their own world. That was an eye opener for me. And yet, here I am on you tube, while spouse is watching a movie on tv. It’s going to take something big, really big to bring us out of this cycle. Praying….

I just love these catch ups Fr Dave, thank you. This topic is a tough one, it is very hard to filter out all these influences we are bombarded with. It must be difficult for those growing up now. I sometimes feel if it wasn't for my faith I would be very overwhelmed by it all. We must remember that raising our kids is a community effort & for Catholics that's raising our children with strong Christian values with the help of our community, the Church. Also teaching our children the value of reading & understanding the Bible as our reference guide to life, something I always found invaluable. This week will devote a Rosary to all those kids who feel in turmoil over the issue of their gender & sexual preference. I will pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them to life God has chosen just for them. Once again, I really enjoyed your post. Have a great week Fr Dave, pats for beautiful Cragly🙏❤️

I’m a mother of three teenagers and I admit that I put off the media/electronics devices for a long time, but noticed drastic changes especially in my youngest when they started using them. Less interest in toys, drawing and legos once they have the fancy light up “toys” like video games and now cell phones. It can be a battle to monitor screen time and I often ask myself WHY and WHEN did I allow this?! It’s a pain, and more seriously-you hit the nail on the head of it can be a danger to their psychological development, and even affect sleep cycles which are as we know important for physical and mental growth. My kids are pretty good kids, I’m pretty lucky, but that being said when I notice mood swings, the first thing I think of is how much screen time has this kid had today? And not just that but WHAT are they looking at? Now I get to be a detective and I pay for this?? Craziness that I have done to myself. Anyway, thank you for saying something, I think you are SPOT ON!!! And I absolutely agree with the analogy of the emperors new clothes-that is EXACTLY how it feels with todays society.

I was in Turkey about 10 years ago and while kneeling in the Blessed Mother Sanctuary, I received a message in my left ear, "Pray for the Children. "I was totally surprised and wondered what it meant! Now I know! Who was that? I was the only one in the Sanctuary. I prayed for many years! Told the priest at my church. I never hear voices! I have cloudy pictures to prove someone was there!

Hahaha I went to a John Mellencamp concert last night. The crowd all stood up and sang Jack and Diane. Great performance, for a man who will be 71 yrs old this year. I think that social media is not just addictive to children, adults as well. Keeps us from others. Pretty bad when my 2 year old granddaughter knows how to find baby shark on her own. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this Father Dave. Your observations on the media, culture, and our young people's exposure to it (and it's influence) is spot on. There was a stunning recent study/poll that claimed that nearly 30% of Gen Z participants identify as Gay or Trans. I found this to not only be stunning, but also likely not equating to the percentage actually living that lifestyle amongst them (a far lower percentage). Add in the reports of children as young as 4 and 5 years old (some parents claim even younger) declaring themselves trans, even though any real form of sexuality is still years off. So why do so many claim to be? I believe it is, in part, to what you have stated here. The media, our schools, and our culture, now "celebrate" and put on a pedestal, the LGBTQ+ community in such a way, that I believe that children, who naturally yearn to be special, lauded, and praised (basic human condition), see that proclaiming themselves part of this group brings immediate satisfaction of this desire. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, is the lack of God in these aforementioned places (media, school, govt, culture) where He once had been so prevalent. Where there exists a moral vacuum, it will inevitably be filled by immorality. The glaring change in numbers in just the last couple of generations (I was born in the 60s) is obvious and startling, and what has changed? Lack of God, and your well stated point, exposure to Media. Sadly, just discussing these things is difficult these days and ANY dissenting thought leads to shaming and judgement, even though as Christians we discuss in love and not condemnation, but it's so refreshing to be able to discuss this here, respectfully, lovingly, and honestly. So much has changed in the last decades, and so quickly, but thankfully on thing hasn't (and never will) .....and that's God. Gob bless you father Dave, much love.

I am a single parent raising 2 daughters, and the one in MS goes to a public school and they exposed to so many inappropriate things. Not only sexual content with graphic pictures, but also the role lgbt-"poop". She doesn't do anything physical and in quite protective of both of them, I try not to raise them "of this world." I don't let her date (maybe when she's 25, lol), but they took her innocence away😢. I was/am so angry that I am taking her out of the public school and sending her to a small catholic school next year! I will be working 3 jobs, and honestly don't know how I will pay for it, but I know I'm doing the right thing, and the rest, I let God take over, and He will provide!

Our grandkids are 5 months through 12 years old right now, and we are trying to figure out what and how much to say. In 60 years I have never come up against anything like this. I never stop praying about it, because it is everywhere and in everything, and seems to be especially aimed at young kids. Thanks for your words here Father Dave. Wow. What a homily, well, not a homily, but geesh, straightforward subject. I know a few transgenders, who are Christians and they are angry all the time. Angry. It's sad. But it was their choice. I believe we should be proud of who we are. I didn't like hearing what you said about there are some people who can't be married because of others. My other cheated on me several times, yet I forgave him and since our divorce, even pray for his soul everyday, I agree that children are exposed to way to much and the basic activities like kick ball in the street, bowling, jump rope, hula hoops, etc, etc , should be involved in children's playtime and keep them away from electronics. Thank you for this. A song I listen to a lot is Jupiter by Train, change the words a bit, it explains why people sometimes run to find their universe and come back only to be lonely.

Thank you so much, Father Dave. I am 71 years old. And I had no clue such a thing as homosexuality existed until I was a college freshman in 1969 and happened to see an on-campus movie which may have been called "The Boys in the Band." I can thank God that our 22-year-old grandson hasn't fallen for today's rhetoric.

I plan to become a hermit when I retire at 75...so...not for a while. Stay close to Christ and intercede for the world. Also, make sure to read daily the desert fathers

@@FatherDave God bless you Sir... I became a hermit because of all the corruption in politics in our church with the mass media with the people.. It seems like everything is wrong i don't fit here. However i was brought to you a sign from God. A light in the darkness. I meditate on your daily remainders especially because they are so in tune with my life's problems and how to navigate thru them... So I've decided to become more like my dogs... They love unconditionally... They only love ... Never try to correct anyone . never show others failures... Even when you had a bad day And you treat them unruly they only live you back... It makes you think maybe that's why God gave dog's to shepherd's to protect the sheep and protect the shepherd... So i think I'm going to try and not judge only love. Just like my dogs... Because now i can keep a better prospective on what to do. Because your the answer and the answer was always right in front of my face all along. Now to take one minute at a time. Like my dogs 🐕... Like Jesus 🙏 🌹 ✝ 🌹 🙏 like father Dave 🙏 🌹 ✝ 🌹 🙏

Hope makes room for love in the world. We can all share it, we can all believe in it, even if we are radically different in every other way. We no longer need to fear our differences because we have common ground. We can hope together-therefore, hope liberates us. It frees us from our fear of the other. It opens our eyes to see love all around us. It unites us and breaks our isolation. When we decide to embrace hope-when we choose to make that our goal and our message-we release a flow of energy that cannot be overcome. Hope is a light that darkness can never contain.
