Of Course Wind Turbines Can Run In The Cold. Including Antarctica. | Mashable Explains
Ғылым және технология
Wind turbines power about 100 homes at the main U.S. research center in Antarctica, where temperatures average about -17°C. It's proof that the incredibly resilient technology can be weatherized to operate reliably in extreme cold.

One question about the heating of the blades: Where does the electricity come from to heat up the blades when there is no wind?

It also stores energy

Batteries or grid connection. Also, they have no reason to heat up the blades when they're not spinning the turbine. Basically turning it on lets you heat it up, too.
But not in Texas

Why you have to winterize them instead of being lazy.

@@fucker661 Ha! Snow in Texas! That can't happen twice!
So they lied what's new it's time for all of us to take out the trash among other things
If i was a president I'd so make Antarctican wind powered cities.
Except when they don't

They don’t when a barely regulated system decides not to plan for cold weather. They work great when people plan ahead
