Odds & Ends (Late Winter 2024 - Crappie, Bass and Trout)

Спорт

In this pre-Spring featurette (Late Feb-Mid March), a variety of fish were caught in various bodies of public water in W Central Missouri. These excursions portend a decent 2024 fishing season, especially if we get relief from the persistent, wide-spread drought in our area.
Rudie - Papillon and Leila - Yorkie misbehave hahaha for the entertainment of their fans.
Spring is right around the corner! Enjoy the show!

I appreciate your kind comments a lot, Charlie. I'm looking forward to the 2024 season and hope to get on the water soon.... when/if these windy days finally simmer down 😊😊. Have a great week, Don

Thanks for stopping in, Bill. Weather and other obligations lately have been interfering with serious spring fishing. Wind has been a real pain. When every day in a two week forecast calls for 10-20 mph winds with gusts to 35.... well, you know. Also, we are in a yo-yo temperature pattern too. But the red buds are blooming so the fishing should be pretty good now. Have a wonderful week, Don

Thanks, Sis. I think some more consistent stories will develop fairly soon...if we get some more rain of course. I'm curious as to the water level in L. Joy because that location is almost an automatic successful fishing expedition. Will talk to you more about it after a while. A couple of vids are upcoming; my fave "mud puddles" are really low and messed up with filamentous algae and water weeds. Bummer...but still a few fish cooperated. Hope HN is recovering quickly, RTR!❤❤❤ ❤❤ Don

See you taught a few how to lead. Those small worms are really working for you, I’m going to give those a try. Nice fish you put in the basket.

Thanks, Jack and glad you liked the show. Since you got a load of those two (Rudie and Leila) last week now you are part of the "in crowd" 😋😋😋. I finished up rigging my friend Sparky's pond prowler and he picked it up Tuesday. Lord willing, we will take it out (with my yak) next week on Pape. Yes, I love those Garden Worms and my friend John is making strawberry/black tail ones right now that I'll add to the selection of great colors I have already. They are only an inch longer than those tiny trout Worms I used in the bluegill video a couple of weeks ago and should work great. Fingers crossed for some rain! Blessings, Don

Don, another great video, nice variety of fish caught. Can't wait to see more on the new kayak, that looks like a "Game Changer" with a potential to reach some new areas. Are you planning to do an introduction//review video on the new kayak? I really like that it has a trolling motor attached. Thanks again for sharing Take Care.

Thanks so much, Big L, for the kind comments. Glad you enjoyed the show. The yak is a used one I bought on FB marketplace and is a 2022 Pelican "Power Catch 100." There are vids all over YT about this brand and model and all the Mods people add. It is a good yak, and I will show a more detailed look at mine in future adventures. Agree that it will change/open up a lot more (and larger) places because of the ability to zip around pretty fast and maybe even do deep water stuff like vertical drop shot. Ideas aren't in short supply but Mamma Nature will tell me when I can go because she runs the wind fans 😅. Have a blessed week, Don
