I agree with your review, and would like to summarize based on my experience working with creating content for a museum: Who may benefit from each headset: - Go: museums and visitor centers as part of immersive experiences, schools, eldercare (to get out and about into the world), exercise bikes, folks that are mobility impaired, simple training. Basically, as you said, people that want less intense games (or no games at all) and are focused on 360 video content (there is a lot already on KZread, NatGeo, etc etc). It is inexpensive to create 360 videos using

Yeah, I even ordered Quest (still have to wait 2-4 days for it to deliver) without thinking, cause a lot earlier, in 2018 I watched an Oculus Go review from the gaming side. He used ALVR to play, he had good WiFi so it was cool, but still, because of 3dof he called it "a piece of s**t or a complete waste of money", and I mostly agree, again, from the gaming side.

I notice go has better surround effect sound and clear sound that was change on the quest 2 which has more bass but you loss surround feeling and over all sound quality. I think that's my biggest problem with the quest 2.

I have the oculus go. When I went into the melody VR with oculus go the concerts were blurry will the Oculus quest give me a clearer picture in the concerts? Thanks.

Its the best to buy the Quest 2 because it has more RAM, more pixels too, etc. The Quest 2 is also pretty cheap for its performance, however, Quest 2 is for rather for gaming. But u can still watch Netflix, KZread and stuff on the Quest 2. So the Quest 2 is a real prefer! If u already have the Quest 1 there’s no need to switch to Quest 2, it just has more pixels and stuff than the Quest 1. So if ur new to VR, go for the Quest 2 for budget, gaming and experience!

so basically one is a dollar store phone headset with a laserpointer to select things and the other is an actually usable headset with 2 controllers an amazing refresh rate and way more games for like what 200 bucks second hand in 2022?

So is it worth paying the 100 euros or so extra for the Quest 128gb version over the 64gb? So whats the advantage if you believe it is? Thanks Ian

Mostly not, no. Recommend upgrading at some point, the go is basically a google cardboard with a controller tbh. The controller just uses gyro and accelerometers to track and it doesn’t have 6DOF

My quest go stopped charging and powered on after leaving idle for 2 months. Any solution?

I don’t own a go, but from what I’ve seen through the lenses of my friend’s go, I’d say they’re about equal, especially when you are in a bright room or the screen is white.

I have both a quest and go, it’s not so noticeable if I line up my vision, but it’s still there

I own both and I have to say I use the Go way more. As you stated the weight of the Quest is major drawback. Also the Quest requires a fairly large gaming area, which for many people is harder to achieve than you might think and I have a house(to much crap I guess😏). I usually just go out in the backyard in the evening. Some games are amazing on the Quest, like Vader immortal which IMO is short with little replay value. Mostly I just play Beat Sabre and Creed. Because I take my own 360 videos and photos the GO is my main VR headset.

@@selfmadetray5836 Everything you say is true(well I don't think I'm totally nuts just the regular amount😂) The reality is all my criticisms are also true I mean it's obviously heavier, obviously to enjoy 6 degrees of freedom you need more space that just how it is. For the things I enjoy the Go has a LOT of advantages. I suppose I'm lucky in that I can afford both and can pick and choose. Once the weight and comfort issue is addressed the Go will have little reason to exist.

What resolution movies will the Quest play?? Have a Go and it struggles playing more than 1920 or 2160p (2300 is unwatchable) And this is a shame, since you only see part of the frame, so 1920 or 2160 does not even max out the resolution of the displays.

On the quest 2 (i dont have the 1 but the 2 is better and cheaper) it lasts 2-4 hours depending on what your doing on it, and if you but the elite battery strap its 10 hours

The go is like a cheep phone for the vr world and the quest is like a console like ps4 or Xbox 1.

The difference between them is that the oculus go has one controller

@@apdroidgeek1737 yes but there is an complicated way to connect it to pc and play vr games there. I don't know how it handles the move controllers and if so how you walk in the directions you want since it doesn't have any joysticks like every other controller.

Depends on how you're using it. For gaming obviously the Quest, for just consuming content the GO is WAY better. That weight penalty with the Quest is hard to overlook. I'm glad I have both. The next generation of the Quest should hopefully address the weight and comfort issue.

@@ferdinandmagellan9210 Little or no difference when watching video or looking at photos. Refresh is more relevant for gaming. I now have the Quest 2 which is a lot lighter so now there is no point to the GO, it's obsolete.

@@surajdebnath969 you don't notice it. You feel it. I have a Quest 2 that has a 90hz display limited to 72hz. But when I switch on 90hz using adb commands, I can feel the difference. The biggest difference is when you move your head. I agree that when looking at a static display like a PC monitor, I don't see that big of a difference between 60hz and 90hz. But when I move my head in game with Quest 2, the difference between 72hz and 90hz is quite much. 72hz is still good IMO.

Oculus go is a hell of a lot cheaper but only one controller

64GB is a lot for minimum storage but thats probably just me I might get like 32gb worth of games at maximum lol
