OCEANA COMPANY is a free-thinking power quartet from Holland (Zwolle) consisting of drummer Robert KOOLE, bassist Han SCHILDER, the guitar of Michiel FERWEDA and multi-talents of singer/mellotronist Matthijs HERDER. In a maelstrom of hard space and Indie dirt, the group is making an impression with their uncompromising approach.
In early 2008, the band self-releases EP 'Promo 2007' which becomes FRET Magazine's Promo of the Month and attracts good press. Later that year they contribute a track to 'Get Loaded 3', a comp CD. This led to interest by SpaceJam Records, a deal was arranged and in October '08 their debut 'For the Boatman' was released.
Ambitious but unpretentious, dark but not depressing, OCEANA COMPANY will satisfy thirsts for a modern prog band that can still blow the roof off your parent's garage.
