This little guy did very well stepping on the new obstacle bridges today.
I painted one bridge black and left the other natural. The black colour could be seen as a hole by a horse, so a good exercise to develop confidence and trust.
When he tries to step over the bridge the first time, I back him up to try again. Then when he steps onto it, I reward him with a treat. He is a smart young horse and quickly learned to step onto the bridge with his front feet. It didn't take long to get the back feet.
More work will continue to teach him to walk the full length of these bridges.
