Glad the lore behind Yugioh cards and archetypes are getting recognition. I always find that a very underrated aspect of Yugioh. So when the Yugioh animes on various archetypes like Albaz, Sky Striker, and Visas Starfrost got announced, I got excited. I would also love an anime series on the Heroes and World Chalice as well.

Was just watching one of those old fake card duels with you in it, and then this popped up lol.

Yugioh lore is the main reason why I build my decks. That, and the artwork.

This is how I felt with Harpies. I started playing them when they first released, but they had so little support and were barely enough of an archetype to work, so I lost a lot. Fast forward to now.... they are a pretty good toolbox deck that can sport a lot of different answers to difficult boards. Are they a good deck now? Not really. But they can win games here and there, and I kinda like the struggle to win I get when playing them.

The lore is always appreciated because it makes the grind easier.

Bro I could listen to Alex talk about this stuff for hours. Can ya just give him a story time segment? I know he doesn't live around the same area as you guys anymore but just give him a good mic and you're all set. Maybe have somebody edit in some images and stuff. It wouldn't even need to be super focused, I just liked listening to him reminisce about all this stuff he thinks is cool. The Mist Valley and Ice Barrier connections were truly mind blowing! (I was curious about the guy with wings).

My sister played Ritual Beasts and I remember seeing Lara and loving her expression on her card (and became my Yugioh waifu). This is why it's cool to see support for old stuff, because of lore.

New player who just built an Ice Barrier deck. It’s great to hear the lore from someone who obviously has a passion for it. As a newcomer it’s been a bit of a challenge to learn exactly what the lore is behind a lot of these cards. Anything that isn’t directly related to the anime seems to be hard to find information on.

This was seriously a fun way to get a lore dive on various archetypes; especially involving decks you guys have made and are making. Would like a 'Lore-dex with Alex' series to get more lore information 🤓😅😎

I also love Yugioh lore and I typically build decks because of either (a) the artwork or (b) the lore behind the cards. There is a reason why I never touched Fire King with Snake Eye. The artwork and overall “vibe” of Fire King seemed plain and boring to me. I felt obligated to fork out for Snake Eye because the artwork and lore was next level. Then Goblin Bikers came around and I built the deck, and will do the same with White Woods. One of my favorite archetypes out there is Witchcrafters, and it is just fascinating how when you look at the cards, there's a ton of small details in the Witchcrafter cards they have connections to both Endymion and Spellbooks. If you then delve deeper into the lore, their connection to the Dark Magician side of things, Aleister the Invoker, Endymion and the Mythical Beasts become more and more apparent. How and why we haven’t gotten a Pokemon Generations anime for Yugioh yet is mind boggling.
