Once again, you weave a solid, no frill or BS review combined with some humor. Favorite reviewer!
Jon McKellan gave Alien: Isolation its perfect retro style aesthetic. He then went on to make Stories Untold and Observation. All excellent sci-fi/horror games that sometimes best the film counterparts. I like where this guy is heading. Eagerly anticipate his next project.

Wow, that's great to know. I'll be following this guy, been looking for something to scratch my alien isolation itch.
Summary. An ok game with some nice story elements, on sale on EPIC. 25 bucks normally and currently on console. So you might be more tempted depending where you decide to get it. As always if you want to join the best community every discussing games, or get some swag come on by www.patreon.com/AngryCentaurGaming it absolutely helps
Got home from work to check out the reviews of Observation and predictably the first review that pops up is Karak's at ACG. Consistently reliable. Never let's us down. Great work and as always, really appreciated.
Thanks ACG, for another review that isn’t filled with sponsored bull crap

Hmmm... I find it hard to believe that the game requires an 8th gen i5 and a 1080 Ti to play at 1080p.
Just finished my first playthrough, really enjoyed the story.
I love that intro sequence. The music sounds a lot like Lorn, with that kind of dark screaming synth. The game looks really interesting, 2001 is one of my favorite films so I might have to check it out!
@eval_is_evil

Good observation dude. I also like this kind of sound for a game like this. I think The Year We Made Contact was more enjoyable to watch than 2001.
I really want to like this game but the "look for object in the room with little to no indication" part just absolutely kills the fun
Loved the part of "laptops in the floor, the floor and the other two floors" Sounds like my place when my 3 year uses all the floors to store things, hahaha. Keep up the amazing work.

Observation definitely has some good elements to it. Visually, it looks pretty good (in particular the PC version). The setting is worth exploring. I also like the atmosphere and feel of the game. Of course, $25 is a reasonable price for the experience that you are getting in return. However, at the same time, Observation could've offered a bit more in terms of gameplay. With that aside, thanks once again Karak for another great review. I really appreciated the continued hard work. Keep it up!
@slackerboy1488

Damn 25 so guess 30 or 40 for me but still not to bad
Your reviews are great, as always. One thing I'd like to point out is the thing you said about the laptops. Well... go on google maps and take a tour of ISS and you'll see that the game actually reduces the number of laptops on board. It's insane just how many thinkpads they have up in the station. Definitely up to 30 or 40 (for 6 people!).
Might grab this now. Told myself I would as long as it wasn’t a buggy mess or 10 minutes long, and it isn’t either of those. Thanks for the great review as always man!
I just finished it, and enjoyed it a lot (at about $12). Satisfied a sci-fi fix I was going for. I'd call it a cinematic walking sim, since the puzzles were technically really easy, even if still potentially frustrating at times. The frustration added a bit to a sort of immersion I felt, given the scenario, although I _do_ honestly wish the "repeat" function could also help a little bit, at least as an option or something. I'm sure some people will be more put off by the frustrating times than I was.
Playing on ps4 and I'm loving it, but I'm a huge space/sci-fi fan. The controls def aren't the greatest, takes some time getting used to. But the story makes up for it imo.

The explanation from wikipedia: Emma tells a confused SAM that there must have been multiple realities all converging on this point, and they were the first version of Emma and SAM to make it through the ordeal. They disappear briefly into the hexagonal entity. When they wake up, Emma and SAM find their consciousness has merged, and they are back on Earth by some means. They feel odd but alive, and by touching the ground, they are able to infect it the same way the entity did to Observation. The same noises from the entity tell the combined Emma/SAM persona to "bring them".
Observation on the PS4 has some moments of stuttering at some places but all together, it’s a flawlessly mind blowing experiencing that has a ton of replay value.

It is literally 30 seconds throughout the entire game you have to do it. Not to mention there is no movement or coordination involved. Literally “hold down X” “now hold down Triangle”. Done.

Thanks for the review. I don't know about the PS4 but with the Epic Games Store sale going on, it only costs 8,89€ on PC at the moment (guess about 10 bucks in the U.S.). I think that's well worth it. I highly recommend playing the game with controller though, it makes a huge difference compared to KB & mouse (especially when controlling the sphere)... oh, and play it late at night ;) About the many laptops ACG is nagging about a bit, you might want to take a look at interior pictures of the I.S.S. :P

Just refunded the game after running into game-breaking bugs. For one, I was able to use an inside control panel while I was outside and ended up glitching through the wall of a part of the station I was definitely not supposed to be in yet and couldn't get back out. I also don't understand why they didn't add volume settings in their game, not to mention the beginning issues with the language settings or the lack of them to be exact. Could've been good but unfortunately, it just isn't, at least for me.
