@@Biring1 are you serious? Lol it's because it's a coop game and a lot of enemies in wolfenstein take a lot of shots to take down... it let's your coop partner know if you need help or not or how close your partner is to killing the enemy. It's pretty obvious.

@@ImTheMan0fSteel A ton of co-op shooters doesn´t have that. Wolfenstein has always had soldiers that die fast and heavier enemies lose pieces of armour to indicate the damage.

Wtf did they do to Wolfenstein?! Why is it an RPG now with bullet sponges for enemies? I had every intention to support both studios but this isn't what I wanted.

Jay Jayson I got it yesterday on pc and I can confirm the enemies are in fact not bullet sponges but are actually damage type enemies, example being if I shoot a enemy that takes primarily small arms damage they will die relatively quicker then if I were to use larger round weapons

@@ahandsomefridge Well I am a huge Dishonored fan, but it's a very different beast. There's absolutely no reason to shoehorn its design elements into FPS games...maybe give us another Dishonored instead and make proper Wolfenstein FPS...

They really dropped the ball by not including true 80's theme, neon lights, synth music, experimental laser weapons, ect... sigh. I hope Ubisoft makes Blood Dragon 2 someday.

In real life, the 80s didn't look like that. It wasn't bright, neon colors everywhere you look like current video game trends would have you believe. The whole 'bright, neon colors everywhere" theme DOES look awesome though, that's for sure.

It's so weird to see all those beautiful graphics, sound designs, tied to comically simple gameplays in the pejorative way. I just finished Titanfall 2 today, it's criminaly underrated and feels so much more actual, despite being from 2016.

Because it’s developed by Respawn, the original Infinity Ward. They’re the ones who made Modern Warfare as good as it is, that’s why the Campaign is so good but likely short because EA of I’m willing to bet. It sure as hell wasn’t Activision or the current Infinity Ward.

Absolutely. I was hesitant to give Titanfall 2 a try, since the first game had not really a SP campaign and thus, I was sceptical. And boy, was I wrong. The SP campaign of Titanfall 2 is definitely one of the best and most fun SP campaigns I have played in a game of this type for quite some time. The only thing I would complain about is that the campaign was a bit short for my liking, but then again it still absolutely excels pretty much every SP campaign of most modern SP FPS. I mean, what they have the balls to call "SP campaign" in the MW games usually can be finished in less than 2 hours...

@@8bitArtist that's the point of these cosmetic versions. It's to support the developers. If you don't want to pay for useless cosmetics then don't. It's bullshit like rng loot boxes that give players far greater power over others that is a massive issue. I loved Shadow of War but hated the fact the fan base hated on Monolith and a genuinely good game for forced microtransactions that WB created that were absolutely unnecessary. At the end of the day people just need to be smarter like is it that hard to control your own spending habits?

This is not Wolfenstein.....that's all I have to say...

This guy is definitely brilliant, but as cool as he is, for me personally the deep dive into each aspect of the game is what makes it difficult to enjoy a game. Days gone is the epitome of this. That game is a masterpiece in my book. I had more fun in my 65 hours in that game than any other game this year. Putting a game like that under a microscope will totally spoil the experience and cause some to miss out on a beautiful game. In many cases the negative reviews caused many to miss the experience all together.

I like it in Far Cry 2 because there are at least two routes you can take to get to and from objectives, and it makes the decision to take a different return route easier. Check out FC2 Redux by BigTinz, it's a masterpiece.

Hate that shit. Recently played Borderlands GOTY Ed, and sometimes I’d spend 5 minutes carefully clearing out a dozen enemies. I’d move forward a bit too far coming across another large group, and fire away while backing up, only to realize that the first group I cleared had respawned, and then I’m surrounded by two dozen enemies.

They've literally Star Wars'd their own franchise. Simply astounding.

You know the game is not that good when it's $30 and ACG says to wait for a sale... yikes. I'm disappointed that Wolfenstein is not what it used to be. I personally liked the 360/ps4 version of Wolfenstein, it was amazing.

new order and old blood were pretty good, new colossus had so many flaws and bad game design not to mention the horrid cut-scenes and terrible characters that made most of the game, this one just took a nose dive into mediocrity and the new protagonists are as likable as nails on a chalk board.. I would play this game if I could play as a Nazi I'm rooting for them now seriously..

razor edge the new order was miles better than the new colossus in my opinion. It felt that to me in the new order the focus was on making incredibly fun and diverse gunplay with a good variety of levels. It felt balanced and exciting to play through. In the new colossus it felt to me they discarded quite a bit of that delicate gunplay balance in favor of virtue signaling and quirky storytelling. Something just felt off to me the whole way through that game. Now it looks like they’ve doubled down again on virtue signaling and sjw nonsense. I feel they lost their way. Where the new order felt like a natural evolution of the older wolfenstein games, the new colossus felt like a grotesque mutation. Looking at this footage of Youngblood, it is even worse than the new colossus. Edit: oh and you must not have played the old blood where the setting of the game is castle wolfenstein. They did it just fine there with no complaints from their fans

Albert Wesker I disagree. It seemed they did a bunch of things for the sake of diversity. Who does pointless things solely for the sake of diversity alone? Sjws. Do you remember how they initially advertised the game leading up to release? Do you even know of the punch nazis campaign that just so happened to launch right after the same hashtag became trendy on twitter? Oh course bj had to have a racist father that shot dogs and hated black people. As far as the gameplay goes, did you try playing the game on medium? Even medium difficulty was so poorly balanced that you could no longer run and gun without dying. What made doom 2016 and the new order so successful? The gunplay balance and the badass feeling it gave you when you were just blowing apart rooms of nazis. I absolutely hated the first half of the game where you only had 50 hp. God it was poorly balanced. Level design is next. The level design of the new colossus doesn’t come close to the globe trotting adventure that was the new order. The levels were so stupidly boring. I hated it. The only level I actually really loved was the train level. They did a good job on that level. That was the only one. Don’t even try to compare the two games gameplay wise. The new colossus can’t compete. Edit: remember that weird fever dream level of bj where he was in the amphitheater trying to escape only to find out it was a dream? It took me an hour to beat that stupid level. Just fricking terrible design. I actually gave up on the game after that level for weeks. It took me a long time to pick the game back up. That wasn’t a problem with the new order. I couldn’t put it down when I played through it. I ignored all the warning signs I saw of the marketing and gameplay leading up to release because I was such a huge fan of the the new order. I was going to buy it anyway. I just didn’t see how I couldn’t have a good time playing the sequel even if they messed up in some areas. God was I wrong

I really enjoyed the game until i got to the brothers 2 garage you spend 2 hours fighting to the top then you try to jump onto a platform and you don't make it so you have to start all over again. i quite the game after that. it was just to much bs to have to start all over again. I don't understand why bethesda make such a trashy game. i will never buy another game from them. no save slot or reload levels. and if you don't start it off just right you will have to start the game all over again.

I work in communications and the marketing around Young Blood seemed suspiciously lacking for a title that you'd think they'd be shouting about from the rooftops if they were really proud of it. Nvr Slp I beat it and there’s atleast 15 hours of side missions and probably 3-5 hours of story the game look beautiful but the story is underwhelming with little to no attachment to the characters and the plot feels like a set up to a more fleshed out game which is what we didn’t get in this title if you can tell one of your friends who want it to buy the buddy pass version of the game and pay him back 10$ because this game isn’t worth 30$ I’d argue it’s worth 15$ 20$ at most, the game has you running around the same areas until you have memorized it like the back of your hand ... I went off on a tangent I’m sure you see the point

I don't know what I enjoy more, your excellent breakdown of games and mostly unbiased critiques, or your absolutely hilarious,spot on,where did you come up with that combo descriptions. I don't comment on very many things but you TRULY make me laugh and help me evaluate games. Thank you for what you do and please keep it up

Got the game for free with my GPU but still watching the review.

I thought this was going to be a short 6 hour experience like Old Blood was for $30, but it seem to have a lot more content then I thought it would have. It might have more content that New Colossus had.

Still the most level headed review. Fantastic work.

I adored The New Order but The Old Blood and especially The New Colossus were disappointing. I'll probably try this out when very cheap. Shame, but thanks for the heads-up! Great review.

I´m not a huge fan of the new changes either. The forced co-op and screen crammed with HUD, in particular, seem rather redundant. I personally don't need an annoying health bar above regular enemies, and the huge orange "LEFT CTRL" hint is simply ridiculous.

@@NaruneWatercrest theyve turned Wolfenstein into a half-assed 2 player Destinylike clone. So very far removed from what a Wolfenstein game is.

Got to love those barely noticeable upgrades. +2% permanent damage! Wow! Also, I can't help but think that the pre-order stuff is weak when compared to games like Cyberpunk 2077 that has a bunch of stuff in the standard edition.

I feel like all Wolfenstein games are meant to be played for one playthrough and then maybe pick up a year later and play through again none of them are really made for replayability including this one

new order and old blood were pretty good, new colossus had so many flaws and bad game design not to mention the horrid cut-scenes and terrible characters that made most of the game, this one just took a nose dive into mediocrity and the new protagonists are as likable as nails on a chalk board..

Idk about Skillup....his are more subjective than anything, but its nice to get a different in depth perspective on games

ACG, I hope you are read this. GTX 2080 and 2080Ti are the utmost top end of performance and it's absurd to mention them as requirements for 4k since graphical fidelity in games has only marginally gotten better for the past 2-3 years. The only substantial graphical advancement is raytracing, but it's worthless to discuss at this point due to its steep pricing.

Theres a PS4 demo, if someone you know owns it, you can do a full playthrough with them.

Just nitpicking but German being my native language I'd cringe every time when reading 'Verfügbaren Daten' instead of 'Verfügbare Daten'. They still can't afford to pay a few bucks to a native speaker to correct such details obviously.

That’s basically what it is but most people don’t realize. Old Blood was a dlc to new order but they released it as a stand-alone game. This game is the same with it being $30 it’s not meant to be the next huge “Wolfenstein 3” type installment in the franchise. When you look at it like that it’s fine I think many for some reason take it as the next big entry that will show where Wolfenstein is heading when it’s just a side game released in the meantime until we get 3. So that’s why I find it ridiculous when some say it’s franchise ruining because they’re basically letting an extended dlc ruin a franchise for them lol.

I just got this game from Gamefly, and I actually love it so far. I'm disappointed that so many people are hating on it. I can understand why some might not like the changes, but to me this game feels like a studio taking a risk and I like that attitude. And this isn't a "mainline" Wolfenstin game. It's a sort of expansion or add on. Perhaps I'll change my mind as I get further in, but I've loved every minute of the first few hours and those daughters are hilarious.

Does only the Deluxe Edition version allow me to play with two people and invite a friend? Can I play alone in the basic version of the game or will it always be a bot controlled by the CPU for the mission? Is it possible to play one of the twins in solitude? Thanks for reply.

Thanks for the review, good info! I seem to be a minority with this, but games that have microtransactions are an automatic "wait 6-12 months for sale" for me. I'm an older gamer and I don't like this way of doing things. I prefer my, pay for a game and get all the content. Doesn't matter what in game the purchases are, I'm against the concept in general.
